Beginner friendly online or stomp fest for us noobs?
As someone who sucks at fighting games how beginner friendly is it? I REALLY wanted to get into GG Strive, game seemed like a blast but as soon as I went online I was stuck on floor I think 7? somewhere where I lost every single fight, played almost 30 fights and lost all of them, never went down a floor and it wouldn't let me go down either so I gave up the game.

This games online any more friendly with its matchmaking?

Now its the best time. the more players the more people at your skill level will play.
i just got off of ranked sf6. there's tons of noobs.

It's going to be much more noob-friendly than Strive. The tower system is regarded. SF6 has functional ranked so you'll be matched with equally weak opponents and smurfs will be dealt with the placement matches and winstreak bonus.

I haven't tried casual matches but I would avoid it based on how dumb they were implemented in SFV. In SFV people would play ranked, get Bronze or some other low rank and never play ranked again. The issues was that although casual didn't affect rank it still matched players based on their rank. So it was very easy to smurf that way.

its noobs or fake noobs that just join the noob ranks to stomp on us

Honestly it's an absolute stomp fest once you reach higher bronze. I'm suffering pretty hard.

I know it doesn't mean much but I've pretty much never played fighting games. While I own a lot, I don't actually have any meaningful playtime on any of them and it's never been something that I played seriously.

A friend told me to get into SF6 because of modern controls being a thing now... which it was never an issue previously - but I do gotta admit that it does feel actually good to play a fighting game like this. Not to mention that a lot of pros who go to ComboBreaker or Evo are also swapping to modern because it just feels better.

Fighting games have never been more accessible to "noobs" like us than it has now.
Hell, I've even won 3 matches and it's only been less than a day.
bronze in sf6 is like silver in sf5 because sf6 has like 3x as many players.

I've said for weeks, fighting aren't easy to learn.

With with easier controls theoretically, everyone should get more wins. No doesn't work that way.

Play ranked find your level, which will help avoid battle hub and casual shenanigans.

you will get stomp 1st doesn't matter which genre you playing

for mmorpg you get ganked or gate keep
for dead rts genre game ends quickly with cheap as zerg tactics
for FPS you get HS before you see
so whole arguement is NONSENSE to me
if you are into something you have to spend time that's it
you have to struggle and learn 1st and thats the most satisfying part because you are feeling you are improving you are learning you are doing new stuff
they give a lot of info and tool for beginners there is no excuse for that

The biggest ob for new players isn't actually the controls but smurfs.

Capcom ID should help with that.

I think a lot of newbs are playing World Tour mode right now. But I think there's probably a lot of newbs in ranked, but you might have to tank your ranking to get there.

If you haven't gotten into any fighting games and actually actively tried improving yourself with practice and a good attitude.

You 100% are going to get stomped, hard.

It's an arcade fighting game. Skill VS Skill.
Just accept the fact that you're going to lose hundreds of times, before you even start get comfy with that knowledge. Treat every loss as a learning experience. Watch character videos for your main and memorize bread and butter combos and which best moves to use.

And for God sake stop just jumping every chance you get. You're going go lose because noob SF players just keep jumping and getting Anti Aired to death. Learn proper spacing and understand *when* It's acceptable to jumping or when you have to. Never just do it without purpose just because it works against the cpu.

That's another thing, don't practice against the Cpu. Ever. You will literally never get good playing online against the Cpu. Don't care what argument people have for using them as practice, it's a dumb idea and you learn nothing.

Try out combos and stuff in training mode, but for actually improving you MUST play against other people and just expect to get stomped. Losing isn't a big deal.

If you're a new player in a fighting game, I can't stress enough how much better the experience in Ranked is, instead of lobbies, hub or casual.

It's counter-intuitive, but "casual" is the worst mode you can play if you're new. The matchmaking there is extremely loose and it will pair you against people that have been breathing fighting games for decades.

A new player trying to play in casual or lobbies will keep getting matched against experienced player and will have no chance to really learn anything, the difference in skill is way too large for it to be helpful.

Playing ranked instead, after a while the matchmaking will start giving you more suitable opponents. People that are better than you, but not by such an absurd amount that you can't stand a chance. That's the best way to learn and improve, I believe (aside from actual Practice mode).

Absolutely %100 correct. I am beginner , no prev. experience, and half my placement matches had smurfs. People who can't handle their own levels so they create fake accounts to thrash beginners. Very welcoming ... SMH. Won't be investing any more time or money into this dumb sh11t.

It's going to depend on who you match up against. Some people don't know how to go easy on noobs, so they stomp. The match-making seems to be doing a pretty good job of filtering people by skill, but you will always run into smurfs. That being said, yes, the learning curve is high, so only go in if you are really interested and/or really love fighting games.
