Are combo trials insane?
I know this is gonna sound scrubby as ♥♥♥♥ but doing the combo trials it feels like you have to hit every move frame 1 perfectly. Even the first few beginner trials i can only pass by mashing the next buttons in the sequence instead of just hitting each button in the sequence once. And then Dee Jay's beginner 7 in insanely tight it feels. I beat it once but i have no idea what I did differently other than maybe I did it very slightly faster somehow. Am I missing something or are the combo sequences really just this insanely tight?

I don't fully know the answer, but Street Fighter has usually been VERY tight for combos...

Part of why I'm trying to keep mine simple and focusing more on getting good at reading situations and game knowledge. XD
You're probably not pressing fast enough and dropping the link.

Spend some more I training you'll get it

this game is really hard lol spend all my time in the training mode trying to not make a mistake x'(

I've tried the trials and cannot make it past combo trial 3 for most characters... I can't get the timing right. I just tried Juri's trial, and I cannot for the life of me do the combo fast enough. It's just infuriating how ♥♥♥♥ I am.
Once you get the hang of it, it will become second nature. You'll just do it.

Repetition. Eventually you'll make up a few b&b combos.
Dee Jay beginner 7, the key is after the drive impact, you need to wait a little bit (when ryu knee is down the ground) then continue with the combo.

The intermediate 3 for Dee Jay is a bit tricky for me.

Glad im not the only one lol. Done a few intermediates even but ive failed dhalsim’s second beginner combo at least a 100 times
I'll check it out tonight. I may switch from Guile to Dee jay, having Bipson as a secondary.

Spend hours in training if you want, there is no rush to go into ranked unless you want too

Its all about trial and error bro. the game is far more flexible when it comes to combo timing and linking than previous versions. Take it easy, don't rush to complete the combo, because what the game is doing is showing your ONE route out of many others. experiment and you will eventually get it.
I know what you mean. Going from 5 to 6 it is obvious you need to be more precise with your timing on combos and I love it. Makes doing combos 'harder'
So far they feel easier than V.
Thanks everyone, at least I know I'm not alone. I just wanted to learn the beginner combos so I could at least have something other than just awkwardly doing 1 (or 2 hits if I'm lucky enough) as a punish heh. I'll keep trying to get the hang of it and hopefully get competent enough with Dee Jay to actually use his feints to an effective degree

Just so you know, the Fundamentals of fighting games provide more power than combos.

I just fought my boss (who loves fighters and hasn't touched SF6 yes) over morning break. He didn't even know how to parry or drive impact, and he STILL whupped me with Ryu (and did very well with JP despite only figuring out like 2 special moves)

And I'd practiced a whole lot with Luke in the Demo. But STILL got whupped.

Guy's terrifyingly good at conditioning a response from his opponent and then utterly smoking you when you do what he expected you to do. XD

Don't be so hard on yourself. I have two friends that only play street fighter when we get together every other weekend. They both kick our ass.

Street Fighter is a learning curve just takes time and practice.
It's all about muscle memory. You just need to perform cancel combo moves by pressing the buttons quickly.
