I uninstalled SF6, restored my computer to before I installed SF6, deleted every folder with Street Fighter in the name, deleted every folder named 1364780, turned off Cloud Saves, started the game up again, and somehow my save, that no longer exists on this earth, is still corrupted.

Once it occurs once it occurs on every instance of you starting the game, even after uninstalling it and deleting your save :/

Do either of you happen to use a certain program related to cream, green, or koalas by any chance? I think that's what caused mine in the first place, but I'd rather not say the name here.

I'm geddon what you're saying, but not on this PC. I uninstalled CE just in case, purged everything related to SF6, disabled steam cloud sync, uninstalled the game, deleted the folder, reinstalled the game, launched it, then got the error. Then I re-enabled the cloud sync, let it sync, and now it's working again.

Interesting... did you lose your save data when you did that or did it restore itself?
Edit: -Eden-#3101 if you want to make this conversation easier by the way - trying to get to the bottom of the cause so I can prevent it happening again!

Lost all the world tour data, gallery data, and arcade completions. You keep your currencies and costume/color unlocks, though, since those are all associated with your CapcomID and not the save file. I quit World Tour mode with alt-F4 every time, so it's possible I just corrupted the file.

Mmm, I can't remember what triggered mine, but it originally happened after I used a certain tool - so I'm not sure if I alt-f4ed *before* using the tool or not...

The main thing that bugs me is that it wiped my playtime in various modes on my profile, so that'll *never* be accurate now
Not exactly a helpful addition to the conversation but for me this issue happened when my game crashed on my laptop while warming the shaders. For some reason, the save is only damaged on the laptop that experienced the crash, but my desktop and steam deck are both fine. I've fully wiped the game a few times with the steps from the reddit posts and I haven't been able to fix it.

Very odd that the save apparently ISN'T damaged because I can use it on other devices perfectly fine.

Any information is useful information, and this is far more helpful than you might think.

I don't know how invested you are in fixing it on your laptop, but if you're willing to run through a few ideas I have to see if we can get it fixed without you losing the data on the laptop, please do add me on here or Discord (-Eden-#3101)!

It happened to me too and I am on a laptop. Really disappointing. Every solution I see says to delete everything, but I don't want to lose my progress with world tour. This is horrible. This is one of only dozens of compatability issues I have been dealing with. I am using windows 10 on a laptop. I quit the game from the main menu and my save got corrupt?? I just don't understand what happened.

this might have something to do with the controlled folder access option in windows firewall and my antivirus stopping the cloud save from altering the save file in the programs folder. I didn't have this option and found out that is because my antivirus Panda Dome takes care of that for me. I turned off cloud save and reinstalled the game after granting the whole steam folder permissions through Panda Dome Antivirus. Loaded up my old save but the game was buggy to launch, I will report more of my findings just in case something happens or this happens to anyone else.

Interesting... I have the firewall disabled so nothing to do with that on my end - is your data still there? As in, have you kept your save?

Try disabling cloud saves, launching the game, seeing if you get the error, then say no and quit if you do. Then turn cloud saves back on, re-sync your save, and try again. I think this might be what fixed mine, though I lost everything anyway.
