I some how got it to work. I unplugged my modem for like a minute and reset my pc. Then when I tried again it said it needed a update and reset my game. Now it is working.

Had a friend getting this error -- might sound obvious, but updating both their GPU drivers and downloading the latest Windows drivers fixed it after several hours of trying prior to doing so.
