This game has bad animations
I don't get why people ignore this.

There's a whole 1+ hour detailed video on this topic to the people who somehow missed it, while playing the game. Or these people prefer to just ignore it while mindlessly shilling for the game?

https://youtu.be/r3-zITMBf5w

A lot of people shill for this game and ignore any flaws. Same people that would say MK11 has bad animations, when SF6 suffers from same examples.
Like characters jumping.
It looks like they have a jetpack and it doesn't look natural.

Nice double standards.

Pretty subjective. I actually loved the animations, SPECIALLY when it comes to Ryu normal buttons.

It is objectively bad. The video analyzes the animations on every level and explains why that is even on technical standpoint.

Some unknown youtuber that no one knows made a clickbait video. Why don't people know about it. Gonna need to bring in a team of scientists to figure this out.

What clickbait video? Did you even watch it? From start to finish he goes through every layer of sf6 animations, explaining why they are bad.
Do you even know what "good" and "bad" animations are?

I literally gave an example of awful jumping animations and the sheep ignore even that, lmao.
This game feels like a cult.

"SF6 isn't as great as you think. Stop praising it so much." - FlyAboveClouds (yet again)

Give it a rest dude. It's obvious that you don't think SF6 is great and that Tekken 8 and MK1 will be better and put SF6 shame.

What do you think is going to happen? Everybody is suddenly everyone is going to see the light like you have? That everyone is gonna turn around on it and completely validate you and your views?

I'm a professional animator as well, and I find SF6 animations to be the highest fidelity in the series, possibly out of all fighting games.

I understand that stylistically people might prefer the older more cartooney SF4 animations that had lots of squash and stretch, but it's asinine to say that SF6 animations are "bad", when by every objective measure of technical skill they are far superior to those in previous entries.

This is mostly a style preference, and principals of animations like "anticipation" are a little lacking for some actions in SF6, but follow through makes up for that, which is entirely missing in SF4 for most animations.

If you go frame by frame by frame on any game you'll get some wonky animations. It isn't a problem specific to this game. It's a limitation to how much can be done with mo-cap, how much can be animated while still maintaining 60fps, all while staying on budget and a realistic development schedule.

MK11 or NRS in general get dunked on for it's animations because most of it's characters move around like 90's era Steven Seagal.

Yeah it's an unfortunate symptom of many current fighting games. It's a real shame that Strive has the best visuals of pretty much any video game period, and the best netcode, and the best music, but falls short in pretty much every other category for me personally, I vastly prefer SF6's gameplay / balance / mechanical design and the amount of side content it has even though visually the game is pretty subpar but it gets carried by the nice effects and stuff like that. I was previously dismissive of the idea of "side content" in a fighting game but honestly grinding ranked matches can get pretty ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ exhausting and normally if you want to chill and turn your brain off your options are to go practice combos or play a different game, but instead in SF6 you can just go play some world tour or something. As incredible as Strive is nothing in that game can make up for having to deal with Zato's bull****.

Also anyone who understands animations know that without breaking fundamental mechanics and quirks translated from SF2 to SF6 will have an impact on the animation.

Either you cut there or cut the gameplay people DEMAND.

And let me tell you, later would be a huge mistake to mess with.

Tekken has some horrible animations, dunno if Tekken 8 will adress this.

But you can tell MK has not those problems because newer MKs all feel different.

No one had fun with the demos because of the animations.
