It's easier to turn on casual or ranked and go with it than wait or join a cabinet. The only thing about that is you could have the sweetest tbagger one match and then be with someone that clearly you shouldn't have been matched with which results in almost perfect kos
I canceled my preorder and I will probably buy the game next year, when it's cheaper.
I've been a casual Street Fighter player since 1994, when I was just a teenager. I always loved the story of the game and its characters. And this mode is like the realization of a dream of being able to interact within the game.
I only bought the game in its most expensive mode because of the battle hub and the stories. And because I love to keep up with the competition, the chance to have an avatar of me training as an rpg for me is unique, I loved the mode and everything it brings.
So here is my question:
WHO ARE YOU TO SAY WHAT IS OR IS NOT THE ESSENCE OF SOMETHING?
I'm sorry, I consider myself quite normal, quite ordinary. So if I have this opinion, you can be sure that a lot of people spent their money with sweat and difficulty to have this experience and you have no right to want to invalidate these experiences by saying that they are not in the spirit of the game.
The spirit of the game only exists because there are people like me and many thousands of people who want to pay for a Battle Hub.
Im literally only buying this because of the avatar. Never bought a Street Fighter game before, had 0 interest until I saw the avatar system and World Tour mode. If this was just the SF chars in a standard 1v1 fighting game as you seem to want then I wouldnt buy it.
I was born in the mid '80s. I remember having talks with buds about the possibility that one day we can create fighting characters. We wanted the same ability in Tekken.
It comes down to me personally, if I don't like a game then I don't play the game I dislike. And battle hub is one of three modes. I don't understand the reasoning for removal.
I love Street Fighter, I've played it, Tekken, and Mortal Kombat since childhood.
One of the biggest dreams I've had for a long time is being able to create your own character and be a part of the game's world in an RPG style.
Mortal Kombat had done that between Konquest mode in Deception (though the character was preset), and custom characters in Armageddon.
Now that Street Fighter is finally doing it, I love that. The second trailer last year where they showed off the open world and having your own character - I was blown away by that.
I absolutely want them to keep it and continue to expand it. More customization options, more areas, etc. The Battle Hub is awesome to see other player's characters, be it silly designs, cosplays, or creative ideas.
SF6 is doing something I feel like the past SF games have been missing, and that's being able to really interact with other people directly in the game. It's taking the feel of walking to an arcade, except in a virtual way.
Hopefully, the hub will be easier to find and friend players under the same circumstance.
Im not talking about the point of have it or not, i was just answering those who think its needed for the SF franchise survive in the future. Its a Plus but not that SF need it to be what he is and keep selling their games.
Addictions tend to make things larger, physically and socially larger.
Does SFVI need the battle hub to sell copies, no? Does SFVI need any multiplayer to sell copies no? Including these features makes the game more enjoyable and reaches a larger audience.
Addictions are added on, the new street fighter being released is attached to the same street fighter you played in 1990's with added modes and features.
Nostalgia is great only to the person that has the memories. Old and retired players can't replace old and retired players, interested previous players and new players can.
