Yea I tried running the demo on windows 7 64 bit right now and the demo won't run.
It closes a short time after you hit play.
That is all.

Fun Fact: Windows 10 is almost 8 years old. Thanks for reading this vital fun fact, you have been enlightened by such knowledge. Oh, Windows 10 is still a free upgrade from 7.

nobody should be using windows 7, it is no longer supported and it would be irresponsible of any devs to release versions on it tbh.

I mean why would someone use Windows 7 anyways??

maybe because windows 10 introduced ads, and a suspicious amount of telemetry.

What ads?

This game uses systems that are not included by Windows 7. Meaning it's time to suck it up, buttercup. It's just what devs have to do to save money and resources for building games. Recently a game I play dropped the old Oculus vr head set in favor of Quest 2 due to the SDk no longer being updated. Meaning it'd take more resources to make sure their game could run on the aging system. It's better to cut losses where you can. Just business.

I'm already using windows 10, my point was that people have valid reasons to not want to use windows 10.

The game requires DirectX 12 to run and Windows systems older than 10 do not properly support it, not to mention Steam is ending support for older OSes at the beginning of next year, so you might as well upgrade at this point.

Windows 7 cannot run this, correct.

The game requires Windows 10 as a minimum OS specification. Windows 7 is not supported. Your only options are: upgrade Windows to a compatible version (10 or 11) or try your luck with a Linux distribution through Proton.

So you found out that SF6 doesn't work on a 14 year old OS that isn't updated/supported anymore and it prompted you to come here and let us know about it?

I've seen absolutely no "targeted ads" while being on 10. That's just conspiracy theories at this point.

Microsoft officially ended support for Windows 7 on January 14, 2020. This means no more patches, updates, or technical support. The moment a software vulnerability is discovered in Windows 7, it remains permanently exposed. Modern OS like Windows 10 or 11 receive patches for these vulnerabilities, but Windows 7 does not, rendering it a golden goose for hackers, malware, and ransomware. Your system's defences are equivalent to a fortress with a gaping hole in its walls.
