You can just spam crouching light punches and eat through the DI as well.

SF3: The game is too defensive, the parry ruins aggression.
SF4: The game is too defensive, the focus attack ruins aggression.
SF5: The game is too defensive, everything's so safe and ruins aggression.
Every game, every release, just ♥♥♥♥♥-ing and ♥♥♥♥♥-ing and ♥♥♥♥♥-ing.
Tbf name ONE fg without hot takes.
Oh no, fighting game's have some of the whiniest playerbases out there.
Mostly because fighting games have "The Scrub" (See DSP)
You know, the guy who gets his ass handed to him, but has ten million reasons why that loss is illegitimate.
But the best part is when they absolutely HATE one game, only to turn around and love it a few games later.
Like, I've been around long enough to remember when the cry of how SF3 "destroyed" Street fighter. The roster was horrible, just filled with "freaks", the gameplay was somehow braindead as the parry "destroyed" the "Fundamentals" (I can't tell you the number of people I've met who whine about "Footsies"...and then can't really tell you what that actually is).
Now? Now Third strike is a friggin sacred cow.
Now that they have something else to ♥♥♥♥♥ about.
Sure I can be an a boring husk of nothingness and do that to make them approach me, but how is that fun? I swear some people will even wait for a timeout even though I'm at health advantage, like what's the deal here?
name one even remotely well known game without hot takes.
I just feel like for players who are not in high ranks DI makes the game too punishing once you get aggressive
A lot of things can be abused at lower ranks to make things unbearable for an opponent who doesn't know how to counter something. One of the many steps of climbing up from lower ranks to higher ranks is looking up how to deal with those big issues that bother you instead of complaining about them on forums.
