For those who use sticks...
Is ball head better or bat head better for this game? Ignoring that ball is what SF arcades had

Ball is Japanese standard, bat is Korean and American standard

Pick your poison really, I prefer a ball top as i pretty much grew up in Japanese arcades

They're cheap, just get one of whatever your stick doesn't come with and try it out!

I'm team balls :SF6_Delta_Cat:

The heads cost little to nothing so I might get a bat head too

It all depends on your preferred grip. I was also team balls but since I moved on to 4 buttons, I never looked back.

I started with bat 20 years ago and didn't liked it at all for fighting games. It was just fine for Final fight beat'em all.
Ball all the way for me.

Agreed. One of the biggest strengths to stick and the reason I made the switch is that it's extremely customizable and somewhat easy to replace whatever you don't like. If there's something you wanna try, go for it!

I haven't used stick very long but I've noticed an interesting feature of the balltop which is that I can kinda roll it off the inside of my palm a bit for smoother motions. I've heard not many prefer bat aside from tekken players.

I tried both and highly prefer Balltop. Battop feels very inaccurate.
You can also try a bullet top, kinda an in-between.

Balltop just feels right to me

I prefer ball tops after trying out everything. I have big hands though and the stock ball top sticks cramp my hand. So I've been using a oversized shaft and a 2 pound spring for years now. Love it. Also I have a larger actuation plate (I think that's what it called) so the stick has less travel hitting the switches.

Check out a few different grip types too. It makes a difference and is easier if you start to learn with it in mind.

Things like drive dash cancels are tricky on stick in some instances, so check out a video on it and try some out.

I like the "wine glass" with the stick between pinky and 4th finger

It's all in what you like honestly i got a bullet top coming in right now using a ball top. i would say just but one of each and go from there. I hate to waste money but it's the only way to know and they are cheap at least.

I was plying on a ball for years and were struggling.
I’ve changed to a bat top and octagonal gate and it was better for me instantly. No adjustment period.
But I bet it’s a matter of preference.

The bright side is you can try both at a very little cost. Both should cost less than $5.
