How will rank resets work

I heard Capcom plans to do rank resets does anyone know how this will work? I would hate to lose my rank over and over again because it will get boring grinding rank for each character repeatedly.

They will reset rank each season, so what is that typically? Once a year? I forget how they did it in SF5.

They need to cause you can't actually downrank in this game.
Once you hit a tier you get to stay there even if you lose and lose once you reach it.
As it changes your lost points to -0 making it impossible to go back to the previous tier.

That's correct. If you check your win rate inside your profile, you'll see we're in Phase 0 (like Season 0) right now.
