How do I do more than just a 3 hit combo.

I'm using modern controls because I am new and I can not get a combo more than 3. Each time I use the assisted combo, the third hit is a special move and knock my opponent away to where I can not hit them. What do I need to do to get more than 3 hit in at a time?

Try fighting in some characters unique style and using their supers for the trial. If you can level up enough to find and get Ken, his super lands you an easy bake 5 combo. And his tier 2 super gets you like, 8.

Most charackters have very short basic assisted combos. Most (but not all) assisted combos end up with a super.
To make it longer you need to do them manually.

I'm sorry but modern controls are just not good. They are the training wheels for new players, but if you wanna do the crazy stuff you gotta learn classic eventually.
