Dude, this is street fighter 6, not street fighter 2, it's time to move on. Fighting games communities are so toxic and blindly conservative, it's awful
That is every steam forum of any new high profile release the days, No Really
Yes I like weird characters lol
I would rather have one Fei Long than many Manon or Marisa. One reason would be Fei Long's martial art (Jeet Kune Do) and design is way more believable than one of Manon or Marisa.
Yes, the most creative character in all fighting game history, Bruce Lee.
Virtua Fighter's Jeet Kune Do user is Jacky who looks nothing like Bruce Lee and the franchise is better for it. Not every fighting game franchise needs to have a character that looks like Bruce Lee. It's been done to death at this point.
If anything SF should introduce Fei Long's successor or protege similar to what SF6 did with Kimberly and Guy. What they've done with Kimberly is far more creative than anything they could have done by bringing Guy back.
Enter The Dragon was the inspiration for for Mortal Kombat and has been confirmed as such by Ed Boon. I don't recall any official confirmation that Enter The Dragon was the basis for Street Fighter.
No it's not because in the world of Street Fighter Ryu and Ken would the equivalents of Jordan and Pippen to the Bulls. Fei Long has never been on that same level.
SF isn't meant to be believable. It does not strive for realism. How is it that Manon and Marisa aren't okay or non believable but yet Blanka is?
Marisa >>>>> Gief. Fight me IRL.
No one did because I'm the authority.
"It's been done to death" so? We have fighting games due to martial arts craze in late 70s and 80s. Hokuto no Ken's Kenshiro is basically Bruce Lee in Fallout. Dragon Ball draw an inspiration from Enter the Dragon, etc. It's all tied together with everything.
Yea, Fei Long jr. that looks, sounds and behaves similarly.
Not just for Mortal Kombat but for like 99.9% fighting games that were ever created. Like MMA. You underrestimated the impact that film had on pop culture from the 70s up to now. So there is no need for an official confirmation, just play the games.
I was referring to Bruce Lee's impact on modern martial arts and by default fighting games that get their inspiration from it. Not Fei Long.
REngine says otherwise. Cartoony look of previous games yes, now, nope. Tonnes of comments here and on Youtube praising realistic approach kinda doesn't work with Street Fighter.
Which part of Blanka? Electric attacks or looks? Ye, he's totally unrealistic. Like Manon or Marisa. Manon being model, judoka, and ballet dancer have as much sense as being NASA scientist and oil rig worker at the same time. Same with Marisa. That abomination has so much juice flowing through its veins that could singlehandedly kill Pacific ocean flora and fauna. SF6 sounds like Shonen Jump's wet dream.
Here you go, the ultimate Blanka design (as he should be in SF6):

Before release people were talking about how nobody's gonna buy this game and how it will never surpass 19k online, and now you talk about how people are just in the honeymoon phase. I wonder you guys will come up with when MK1 drops and SF6 will still hold as a relevant game.
Another clown reward for you
MK was never competitively relevant anyway. Sure there are tourneys, but seriously who respects the MK competitive Scene? It's way more about casual fun. Which is perfectly valid, but at the same time they are not in the same category to even really compare.
SF and Tekken are the ones that are competing in the same category. Guilty Gear too, but that's more niche.
Comparing Mortal Kombat to Street Fighter is like comparing Call of Duty to Counter Strike.
