If that's not it, maybe you accidentally bound them to shortcuts in the training mode? I guess it would help to know if you're trying to use them as training shortcuts or if you are wanting them to be actions like DI and Parry.
Nah it's not the presets. Went into steam controller settings the two buttons are dead there as well. Installed 360ce to emulate my stick as 360 controller and while inside the 360ce program all buttons are working fine they are still dead in steam. I'm suspecting steam controller profile must be messing with it or something.
Are you talking about the R1 and L1/R2 buttons (aka LB and RB?).
My Madcatz Fightstick Neo (Xbox 360), Brook Universal Fighting Board (Qanba Q4 mod) and Xbox One normal microsoft pad controller have no problem registering them.
although the fightstick neo doesn't have analog inputs (the "Triggers" are just normal buttons), and the Brook simply shows them as full on or off. (I use the Brook in PS3 mode because XBOne/X360 modes seem to just crash the Steam Deck in SteamOS but NOT in windows 11, which seems to be an OS bug as there was no problem with this a year ago when I tested this).
I guess u can call them R2/L2. I'm using DIY stick with Xin Mo PCB. Anyway I got it working had to go into steam big picture mode then option--controller settings setup xinmo as generic controller in addition had to pick "Enable steam input", bind all the buttons there and then left click on SF6--properties--controller and set "Enable steam input". Now all 8 buttons work in game.
