With that said -- keyboard, controller, stick, leverless, gives no one an advantage over another. There's people out there still rocking and winning with PS1 controllers.
I would personally suggest playing with modern controls though. Modern controls use four buttons as opposed to six so you can keep your drive and drive parry buttons in more comfortable positions.
It's True.
I use a Xbox x series controller and I have to say it works for a few macthes then gets stuck on a direction or miss the inputs, seems to work fine only when using up down left right directions but gets stuck with any other motion, I would never recommend an xbox controller for this or any other fighting game.
Xbox Dpad isn't too bad, nor is the stick. Actually using the shoulder buttons is not an issue at all if you've used a console before. I sincerely do not understand how that's even a complaint people have. The only thing that felt awkward was Ken's Quick Dash and even that was just a matter of adjustment.
