This is specially infuriating knowing that Remote Play Together is on by default, so capcom went out of their way to disable it.
+1
Though...I doubt many will support it since people prefer telling "just use parsec"(please don't do that and...just bump this) instead of supporting this harmless idea when Remote Play Together works just fine and it's so much simpler. I literally have a friend who gives up playing something local multiplayer if he has to open Parsec and bother logging in to something that COULD be instant...
(I literally use a game I don't play anymore to Remote Play Together other games with a simple Steam invite)
Anyways, I just would like...a native solution, no third-party software.
In that case, then regarding:
It'd probably be best to try Parsec first.
RPWhatever tricks Steam -after- you boot the game afaik, rather than before as per some other methods*, so it might still work, but you may as well start with Parsec since it doesn't mess with Remote Play at all and is rather its own separate form of Remote Desktop-type app that shouldn't conflict with Steam or Street's DRM.
*ex. Installing something cheap, small, and DRM-free that supports Remote Play, such as Speedrunners, then replacing all of the files in Speedrunners' install folder with the files of the game you want to enable Remote Play for, and renaming that game's .exe to Speedrunners.exe.
This method works for basically any DRM-free game you want to Remote Play with since it tricks Steam into thinking you're playing Speedrunners, though as a caveat achievements, playtime recording, cloud saves, and screenshots won't work properly.
It's so, so convenient just having that option there, at any time, without having to open another program for it. A click of a button away. No logging in, no worrying if the controller works or not.
we also tried using RemotePlayWhatever, it worked but we are both player 1.. We are both using controllers and I also tried using keyboard while he's on controller but still doesn't work.
still looking for alternatives, but damn.. why so greedy..
