controller disconnects
does anyone else have issues where the controller just disconnects randomly or other inconsistent lag spikes?

Yeah my Xbox One Controller keeps disconnecting for a few seconds at random times, it makes the game unplayable without a stick or a wired controller

Just happened to me -- Casual match online, massive lag spike where opponent's wi-fi went down to 1 bar, then my controller just stops working with the game. Had to finish out the game with the keyboard

Has anyone resolved this issue?

I am using "xbox elite controller 2".
"Momentary disconnection" occurs repeatedly during the match....

It happens both wired and wireless.
Controller farm updated.

It often occurs at "SA activation timing" and "round switching timing".

I only had this problem during WT. Whenever I was in a fight and opened the menu to use an item, my character became frozen for like 1-2 secs until the controller worked again.

This game has so many bugs and problems, it's mind-boggles me how not more people are complaining.

I’ve seen people having the same problem on Elden Ring forum.
If I remember it correctly it was due to some windows settings. Like energy saving and turning off usb devices when not in use. Obviously it doesn’t work well.
It can also cause stutters in various games.

It has nothing to do with windows, it's been this way since day 1.

Maybe but not everybody has the problem
Even if the game causes it it’s still possible to fix it. Otherwise everyone would have the exact same issue when using Xbox controllers.

Hey here’s one thing to note ! It’s not a windows 10 issue , and nothing is wrong with my cord , or controller . It has to be a steam bug . I kept playing steam games and mashing all of the buttons and in every STEAM game it will disconnect .

Went to platforms like gog , Ubisoft ( no steam launch ) , epic games , and ea . I tried to get the controller to disconnect and it won’t disconnect . As soon as I start a game on steam and start pushing buttons it disconnect but only on steam games .

It has to be a steam bug .

Not to blame Nvidia, but it's been happening since I updated my Nvidia Drivers. The controller does not disconnect for Diablo 4, or other games on Steam. It's only happening on SF6.

If my theory is correct it’s just a steam bug . Does this controller disconnect if you play other games on other platforms other than steam ? If not steam is the cause .

I made a post but can the people here on this post who had issues please try out your controller on other platforms like epic , and gog and let me know if you’re still having the same issue or not ? Thanks .

Yes! I use a PS5 Dual Sense, wired. This issue has popped up for me about 3 weeks ago. It is very random. It would disconnect during a match, sound cuts out for a split second, then reconnects the controller. Not sure what is happening, but I can assure you that it's only happening in SF6. Death Stranding and CyberPunk have no issues, neither does Diablo 4.

Late response, but the controller works fine on PS5,. and Battle.Net. It also works fine in Cyberpunk and Death Stranding on Steam. I believe the issue to be related to Steam + SF6.

This happens a lot to my hitbox and PS4 controller. It usually disconnects when I open the Steam overlay in game and bring up the notes page.

Edit: So this just happened, I picked Training mode with my hitbox and Steam swapped the order of my controller from hitbox to my DS4.
