what rank is considered good?
what does everyone consider to be good? is it subjective? is it possible to be a casual platinum or diamond? I heard gold and platinum were the toughest to rank up in sfv I don't know though I didn't play enough. I also read 90 percent didn't make it out of bronze

what is your opinion? silver, gold, platinum, diamond or do you only think master is good?

I was a high silver player for all of SFV, but I didn't grind much a played a character I struggled with (Chun).

I don't think rank matters at all personally. If you're enjoying the game and improving then focus on that and you'll get enough respect.

Platinum is for peeps that have a good grasp of the game and diamond means you have a deeper understanding of the game.

In short your considered at least decent in plat.

All leagues have decent players for the particular league. I'm not sure what you're asking. A sweet spot would be subjective. I would guess gold would be the dividing line. Gold and silver would be top tier for most casuals after that you're getting into serious study and playtime. Platinum and diamond would be higher up the ladder, still way below master.

It depends on perception, free time, and how far you want to push.

Too early to tell I think but it's probably a safe bet that if you're diamond, you're good. Plat's probably decent at least.

Most pro players are in Master on their respective mains already, though some might be high diamond because they haven't been playing a lot of ranked.

I'd love to see a graph showing showing rank distribution of the playerbase

It's hard to say because SFV didn't have Iron and I don't know if the game gives/takes the same it did in SFV. Also depends on your definition of good obviously.

In SFV Gold meant that you put some effort into the game, Platinum was where you had to learn matchups and Diamond was where you would optimize what you learned.

This included casuals that haven't touched the game since 2016. They win three matches, never touch the game again but still become part of the statistic. I wouldn't count that.

No! However, you if you play deliberately then you can reach Plat/Diamond. It'll just take a long time.

This is for SFV Season 5 in 2020. It's going to be different since there's also Iron rank now and even if it was 1 to 1 then competitive games become more difficult over time. It was much easier to get to Diamond in 2016 than in 2020. Also the percentages are heavily skewed by casuals that drop the game after 1 online match.

If you're Silver, you're above average.

It was like 3 percent made it to platinum ranks, 2 percent diamond ranks in SFV.

60 percent never made it passed bronze ranks. 15 percent made it silver ranks, under 10 percent made it gold ranks. 0.5 percent made it master and warlord combined lol

what about gold

Diamond is what Id say is "good". But good depends completely on your own subjective opinion of what good is. A silver street fighter player can beat 99.9% of the people on the earth in street fighter.

Very interesting. If players realized they aren't terrible at lower ranks would they have stayed and continued to play the game? (SFV) I never got better than super gold.

SFVI seems to mimic the stats.

I believe I was right. These are the players that actual new players and casuals are facing in rank that they believe or smurf plats and diamonds there just isn't enough of plats and diamonds to being with. Makes sense that silver would be hell to a newbie.

It's the silver wall I've talked about before lol.

Whatever rank you can achieve is good, it's about your progression more than anything. Look at people in the top ranks to learn from but don't think you have to be their rank to be good just try to be the best you can right now and you'll keep getting better.

No, I'd say even in order to hit gold you have to make FGs a serious hobby and an integral part of your life. If you play chess just once in a while with some friends who don't know anything about the game either and you're not willing to learn anything about strategic concepts like openings or pawn structure, it's equaly unrealistic that you will somehow reach an ELO of 2000.
