I COULD BE WRONG but for my my avatar doesnt use the default controls.
edit: i said the wrong inputs.
also each button preset has its own keyboard configuration
Definitely not alone, I can’t find a way to rebind keys either (for avatar battles in world tour). I’m using a B0XX for input device, and my custom controls don’t seem to apply to avatar when using classic control scheme. I don’t see any other separate options for custom binds for world tour
Look for the keyword AVATAR inside the different settings.
I don’t think you actually read what’s available under that setting
You probably already discovered this yourself, but in case you haven’t try this:
Continue in World Tour until you get get to Chapter 2. By then I believe you will have seen the tutorial message about customizing controls in options menu. Once I saw that, the next fight I did used my custom controls (which I set as soon as I booted the game after installation).
It seems for whatever dumbass reason they soft lock you out of your full control scheme until that part in the game. That was my experience at least, I didn’t change anything else. Funniest part is that I discovered this right after my last response to your other comment lmao
PS - don’t forget to change player 2 side.
sometimes there appear to be TWO player 1 and player 2 control settings. the first is in the menu screen (selecting game modes), and the second is while you're in world tour. somehow they become out of sync.
you'll want to modify the second player 1 control settings inside world tour to the button preset you want your avatar to use. this will solve the issue you're having.
i had previously set my world tour control setting to "custom 3" & forgot about it. but from ranked, i had switched to "custom 1". so my avatar wasn't getting the changes to my button mapping. every time i tried to fix the issue, i was in the main menu (or the battle hub) until recently.
I'm not sure how they get out of sync, but after hopping in and out of world tour and messing with button mappings, they seem to be back in sync.
