How beginner friendly is the online multiplayer?
Hey complete newbie to street fighter or any fighting game. Is the Multiplayer good balanced so i can compete with other noobs? Or is the multiplayer " get gud or know your place "

it puts you against lower ranked people but if you keep winning then it's gonna start putting you against higher ranked

The game does a great job finding you people on a similar level.
You just need to accept that no matter how good (or bad) you are you will be losing 50% of the fights. Not everybody can handle that simple reality.

The game offers modern controls what makes it much, much simpler than older SF games. You even have 3 auto combos so no need to spend few years in practice mode before playing.

its actually a beginner friendly i might say, because this is my first street fighter ever. if you finish the world tour aka the the single player mode open world, you can pretty much compete the average tier on online multiplayer (battle hub). The game actually trying really hard to teach you how to play lol

this is my personal exp on this game tho, modern control really help to get me in the game without trying hard to remember and practice the command.

Its a good side game to waste time
Depends how much u like fighting again ken cammy and juri cuz thats all people play
It's good at matching you to the right level once you calibrate and there are tons of other newbies in the game right now. Very beginner-friendly as the genre goes!

I see way, way way way more Manons, Marisas, Jamies and Zangiefs than Juris. A lot of Cammies and occasionally Kens.

Not me. Literallt played ten kens in a row last night then it kept going from cammy manon ken jurry. Thats it. Literally played no one else in the 7 hours i played
Just echoing everyone else, but to really dig into the matter:

Modern Controls are generally used as a crutch at lower levels, if you use Modern Controls you are more likely to get ditched after the first match regardless if you win or lose. Training gives you a great deal of information and I would highly recommend using it to practice your inputs.

Furthermore if you use Modern Controls you take a damage cut but you will not lose the positional effect of some combos like hard knockdowns and others. You will also lose access to some Specials and Unique Normals. You also get access to a Combo assist button which you hold 1 button and mash light or medium and it will give you a free combo.

Don't use combo assist is all I ask personally.

Some people play since SF2 and can’t do simple combos that are used for modern controls.

Ya idk. Starting not to care what people think about modern- classic. If i dont wanna play against i wont play against. I would just rather play against whatd going to be popular in tournements. And not worry aboit that one modern zangief
its possibly the most beginner friendly fighting game (that doesn't suck) that has ever been made.
that said, you will still run into gimmicks and strategies that will seem impossible to beat at first and it will be frustrating.
Play modern controls zangief
I'm beginner and it placed me in Iron which I think is second lowest rank. Modern is super beginner friendly, definitely struggled alot when I switched to classic but I'm slowly climbing back up
