In-game Tournaments are joke
Capcom, you are listing and separating in-game tournaments based on ranks, yet you see master ranked players signing in bronze/silver/gold/plat league?

I don't understand how most of the ranks have their own separate tournament except for Platinum..... I want to stay within my rank :steamsad:

Plat is with diamond, and so does silver with gold. My educated guess is the data they have shows, for example, the amount of bronze players base is equal or even more than silver and gold combined, hence why they have bronze on its own.

However, I have inspected a lot of participants today, and as I mentioned above, many scummy diamond/masters joined bronze/silver/gold. Capcom should fix this issue.

Wait tournaments are actually working now? Neat.

Yes, and sadly it was a joke to see masters signing up to low rank league and winning bronze/silver/gold, probably some may won Iron too..

I dunno, my tournament errorred out after round 2. So "working" is a little generous.

Are the schedules any better at least?

Are there any prize pools?
If so it's an easy money farm. Just lose placement matches on purpose on some chars and get the low rank you desire.

The EU tournament was at uh... 6am local time (or 5am if you're on the British isles), I only managed to take part because I just happened to have the week off.

But if there were downs after round 2... They are not stable yet AT ALL. Considering that hour and that in August a lot of people will be on vacation... That's the lowest time to get people.... and yet they crashed???

Yeah our bracket had 31 entries, of which 28 actually showed up, so apparently Capcom will need to take this back to the drawing board -yet again-, I got some fun sets out of it even if I didn't get past top 16 but I'd have been happier if those that got past the second round actually got to finish the tournament. (Capcom plz, it's been 7 weeks since launch)

Ah, so it's still horrible. Is there any way to contact Capcom and be like "give more schedules, I can't play due to work, what the hell man?"?

They are doing on pupose. They need to address the problem and first they have to do it with little people but under real field. That's the reason for those schedules. One user said in this steam forum that during the beta was being tournaments every 3 hours. Once they get these to work stable so will be the schedules.

But I think that once most of the players who cares about it get their tournament related achievements you won't have so many players to fill them.

That is partially true, however, they can make the reward for participating Drive Tickets, or even a small amount of Fighting Coins. It will sure get a lot of people interested.

Funnily enough, everyone taking part got 200 kudos for their efforts. Maybe in the future they can increase the amount the further you get in a tournament. But first I'd like to see a tournament be capable of being played to completion. It'd also be a way for players to get used to pre-bracket nerves before heading out to real events or online tournaments with some real stakes to'em.

So wait, I just got home and booted it up, I don't see any news, missions or anything related to tournaments being live today. Were they shadowdropped or what?
Peddie Aug 21, 2023 @ 9:56am
They showed up when checking the event desk in the battle hub yesterday.
