If you only wanted the characters you could get the
1250 fighter coins and another 250 fighter coins for a total of 1500 fighter coins.
the 4 season characters would cost you 1400 fighter coins.
Meaning it costs 29$ to get all the characters individually.
If you compare content and price of the pass its not much of a deal.
Other fighting games would give you so much more for the same price.
I mean SFV gave you 6 characters and a costume for each.
And you could additionally level that character for extra fight money to unlock stages colors and costumes.
I cant tell if the game was so expensive to make so capcom has to be this aggressive in its monetization just ot break even and that the characters are also extra expensive to make.
Or if capcom just wants to see if they can make the same money for less effort.

At lest you can get the pass for cheaper on legit key seller sites like green man i guess.

no this is capcom so it's just pure greed. If I knew monetization would be this bad, I wouldnt have bought the game tbh. As of now I will not be putting a single extra cent in the game, let the whales pay for the game ''developpement'' whatever that mean for a company that releases one single patc per year.

Seasons passes are never worth it unless they are on an extreme discount, paying for content you don't even know about yet or havn't seen is the height of being a fool.

The passes have always been the cost of all the content you would have bought but saving a few $ at best, they are never a "deal" they are just made to lure in suckers who don't know any better.

Those 1 hour rental ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ tickets are not good for anything, if you seriously want to lab characters. You are getting fighting game characters one of them is Akuma who's a well established character you only have to be slightly more intelligent than Elon Musk at his peak brainrot to figure out what you are getting with the DLC.

Strives battle pass is 25$. If you bought each individual piece of content in it it would be 32.
So Strives pass will save you 7$ if you really wanted all the content.
I get the whole wait for a sale mentality but i am not you garden variety flavor of the month fighting game fan. I play new DLC characters day one and actually try and get good at them.
For me wating half a year for a sale is not an option. Unless i just straight up don't enjoy the game after 100+ hours like it was the case whit Dragon ball fighters Z.

I am well aware that "serious" fighters are pretty much required to get the season pass due to needing to lab every character to be competitive, but that is the problem with them now, you feel obligated to get it because you need every character, regardless if you actually like them or not.

and this is the trick, and why season passes became and stayed a thing. you've been suckered into getting it. None serious do not care and just buy the characters they actually like.

and i find it funny how you had to throw elon musk into this, even though he had nothing to do with this convo.

To be fair i did get the game and Season pass one together on green man for 68$.
Standard was 50$ so i guess pass one cost me 18$.
My issue is that season pass 2 is just not really gonna be much of a deal if its the same as pass 1.

I'm not going have an existential crisis over 23 euros. It's a "might as well" situation. I play the game more than enough to warrant the cost.

As for Musk I was just using his current state as a metaphor for low IQ, don't read too much into it.
