I've never seen more unwinnable matchup in any fighting game. I'm not sure if it's even 1:9 ratio.
This alone makes Zangief broken in my opinion. The only bright side is that Dhalsim is not as popular as Ken.

Not a gief player but I would imagine he would struggle just as much against JP.

I think JP and Guile are a lot easier to handle than Sim in this game. Sim is a nightmare. It's a stealth buff for Gief that not many people play Sim in this game.

Yolo running bear grab at round start FTW.

In SFV I use to fear gief, in 6 they made him not threatening at all. I'm not sure what they did to him but he is just alot easier to handle now.

that matchup was worse in sfv

JP is a bad matchup but not even close as bad as Dhalsim. Zangief can just jump over most JP's projectiles. Or block/parry and slowly keep moving forward. Hard to do but overall simple gameplan.

Nothing really works against Dhalsim. You can't jump over fireballs because you get hit by heavy kick. If you parry or block you barely move and when after 30s you get close to Dhalsim he just teleports to the other side.
I've thought that it's just me being a noob and not knowing the matchup so I checked how master Zangiefs play against Master Dhalsims and it's a big struggle there as well.
It's hilariously bad for Gief.

This is how to know a Dhalsim player.

Not really. I think it's a little more egregious that people who are playing a game they just started on a couple weeks ago are straight faced adamant that there's a matchup in which they have no options. And will argue with a straight face not only that they're aware of all possible options but that none of these are sufficient.

The dhalsim vs X matchup hasn't changed since forever. No crap it's still the same rhythm as it was in SF2 turbo. He's always been tricky and annoying to fight. He's never been impossible to strategize against/beat for anyone.

And before any assumptions, I for one suck too much as dhalsim to beat anyone with him.

Imagine if capcom automatically implemented any change/buff/nerf you asked for regardless of whether it was smart or warranted. Imagine how much you'd think it over before voicing the complaint. Consider applying that to real circumstances.

Dhalsim vs Gief in SF4 was affordable because fief was fast and has his DP (dragon push) to move forward quickly. Now his has none of that, and his forward HK is punishable even on BLOCK. SF6 GIEF is not right. His Lariat do not hit behind, even when you see his hand. How is that possible. Yes he has high damage, but if you lock him on the wall, he is done. He has nothing to defend. Even EX 360 is not invisible. You have to tell the future when on wall. Let take LUKE, camy, marisa, and many other. He is DONE.

I’m sorry but it’s you who sound like not knowing the matchup while being arrogant and patronising.
I’m not great at the game but I’m able to check the best players in the world. I can check their fights on youtube and check their stats on CFN.
Even Snake Eyez have problems with Dhalsim and he has way worse win ratio against him than even comparing to top tier characters.
Tier lists and matchup tier lists are not imaginary. If you disagree then give some arguments. If you think that some of the best players in the world are wrong and should git gut tell us why and how.
