Some relevant YT comments and replies from the video (linked above):
"That title is so misleading. Haitini is like on of the alltime best japanese players." and "I like how the title of the video tries to downplay Haitani like hes not one of the all time greats"
"if Haitani wins, the modern control scheme will be on the marketing from now on"
> "I think over time more and more people will switch to modern when they realise how good it is"
"If you want to play Chun-Li at the highest level, most people will resort to modern. Her stance combos in classic control are a NIGHTMARE and a disadvantage against Ken, Ryu and Camille {I assume they mean Cammy}"
"I can't believe they allowed modern in the competition lmao. Ban certain hitboxes and allow macros and presets in competition? Way to go Capcom."
> "Modern is how the game is set by default when you first boot it up. It’s the way Capcom intends the game to be played moving forward, like it or loathe it. I think by evo 2024 we’ll see a lot more players on modern"
"Modern controls are literally Macros. One button no skill nonsense. There's enough cheating in this game already. Make Modern and Classic their own separate bracket, and a third bracket for people willing to play both."
> "someone call scrubquotes"
> "they are called modern controls for a reason, its the way the game is suppose to be played, classic is the old way, old man"
> "Riight.. so project L will take 0 skill because it also has 1 button specials"
> "Doesn't change the fact that Haitani is a long time player that would still take any of you crying with or without Modern controls."
> "no they aren't called beginner controls or easy controls, they are called modern controls, classic controls are called classic for a reason, it;'s the old way, modern is the current way, do you understand english"
"Good, I hope Haitani wins evo so the integrity of SF6 is destroyed forever. This is what happens when you put what is essentially macros into your game. Now I hope the game dies, SF6 is trash"
Crossplay in FPS is potentially uncomfortable because it's hard to make sure neither pad (with aim assist) or kb+m has an advantage, AS LONG AS the condition is met that the PC users don't get aim assist on pad. Aim assist for pad users (console only) that is too good privileges one group, and the PC users can't match that by playing on pad + aim assist in this example. (If PC pad users got aim assist too, there's no problem, they can get the same experience. "But I want to play KB+M and it be better" is just an expression of preference, those players should just get over themselves and play on pad if that's stronger.
As we can see, you feeling M is cheating is not an issue. You can play M too, levelling the playing field. If there is a level playing field, there is no cheating. If you don't want to play Modern, while you think it's stronger... you're setting yourself up to fail, and that's silly.
My first replies to you, ever, were about how you were using terms like 'everyone' without any figures.
Do you have any evidence, apart from your feelings, that 'everyone' wants to segregate Classic and Modern controls? This is probably the tenth time I've asked. For fact fans, you've never provided any evidence.
I very strongly do not think Capcom will do this. Modern controls are the default, and they want to see new players using them. World Tour mode purposefully forces you to use them for the first chapter, also.
If you hate SF6, go play Project L. It's a much hyped new fighting game with one-button-specials.
Explain to me how Haitani winning with Modern controls proves that Modern controls are 'cheating'? Haitani is "one of the Five Japanese Gods of fighting games, and was well-known for his Makoto play in Street Fighter III: Third Strike and Street Fighter IV. In Street Fighter V, Haitani used Necalli to its maximum potential during the first two years of the game, winning premier tournaments such as Japan Cup and Ultimate Fighting Arena" [source: Liquipedia].
If him winning now shows that he is 'cheating', was he 'cheating' then?
I suspect that you could see Modern users win MORE and call that 'cheating', and also winning LESS and somehow still call that 'cheating'. Is there any substance whatsoever to your statements?
Let’s go, Haitani!
Zahramar says that Modern = Macros = Cheating, so I guess Capcom Pro Tour tournaments allowing Modern is impossible.
Eff this game man. I had big complains in sfv and still played it and had fun.
This is the first sf to skip. I didnt even skipp spinoffs or mvci. But this ma man is a abomination.
This is the sf to avoid. And the later ones to. As it getting easy and easier and woker and woker.
I have 2 amiibo of ryu and ken. This is how i will remember it. And this is how i will keep it farewell sf.
Odd that it's popular, then. I thought the phrase was "go woke, go broke"?
I'm starting to think the phrase might be incorrect... that plus the fact the Barbie movie has sold so many tickets.
Truly, received wisdom is worth questioning.
The go broke is not true. Not always. I have a personal opinion here and im not recruiting nor creating a hyvemind. Im convinced that this will make the franchise go broke in shirt term.
Im not nostrdamus. But if sf7 is modern only it will create a bubble.of people playing and leaving. It gets bored fast
