I think the only interaction you need to have with the steam forums for that badge is to look something up using the search bar in steam discussions. So while I get what you're saying, you actually don't need to interact with the steam forums directly.
Scrub isnt about skill its about mentality. if you're mad enough to go on steam forums and complain about mechanics in a video game you are nothing but a scrub.
to stop listen to pro players only and focus more for the game to be open for the largest of player base THE CASUALS since thats where most of the market will pay off but that does not mean the game is casual in its core there is high skill cap in this game after all.
As you say the good and pro players will adapt only those who lose to modern controls will complain which i dont understand since the modern thing is not that good ..least it didnt help me to get any better so i stick to standard even if i suck XD.
Then let me ask you this? If not a soul complains about mechanics, characters being overtuned, etc. how would things be fixed? How would people get a different lens to see the problem through? How many people would gain any insight? People come on and complain because it's their given right as they paid for the game. Does it mean it's always valid? No it does not. However if people didn't care or have some passion about the game and wanting it to succeed they would not voice concerns.
Go and take a look what the community leader badge actually entails It's just bunch of checkboxes you can get done in an hour with one exception. The slowest part is waiting two weeks to get access to the community market after enabling steam guard, everything else can be done almost immediately after account creation.
