Rashid Combo Trials…? Spinning Mixer & Modern Controls.

Hi everyone. I just got the game today. I was really enjoying the demo so I decided to go ahead and get the deluxe edition.

So, I’ve been recently trying out Rashid in the combo trials using modern controls.

Completely different beast to the guy I was using during the demo.

I’ve noticed that some inputs require me to be REALLY fast. (Like beginner 6 requires spinning mixer, and for some reason, every time I press the correct buttons (left arrow key and SP), it registers a different attack (sky high).

What’s even more bizarre is that
I went ahead and tried doing the classic controls really quickly and it triggered the correct attack (LIGHT spinning mixer).

But the thing is, when I check the controls scheme, spinning mixer on Modern Controls is a different input. (It’s a movement key(left) and SP). Attempting this input will trigger “sky high” attack.

Like what’s up with that?

I chose modern controls for the Combo Trials but it seems it makes no difference at all.

What am I missing or are these combo trials more geared towards classic inputs?

If you get sky high with back SP then, as that's an air move, you're in the air. You need to land first.

I'm on land while doing the input that shows in the command list menu

Modern > Special Moves > Spinning Mixer:

-> + SP

I try doing that move and I get a "sky high" like uppercut move instead.

Anyway. I just figured it out how to do it. There are 4 variations (one of which is buffed)

But the command list menu showed me something very different. That's why I got confused.

Look at bottom left of the screen. Press a direction (right?) and R3 (click stick in) - it's different for keyboard, but shows the keys - to see an example.
Go into the start/tab menu and turn on the input list to be even more clear.
