I mean, the man plays Blanka and plays like a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ moron, but wins tournaments regardless of his unga bunga playstyle. He balled straight into Punk and Nephew's DPs so many times. I'd say he's the expert on stupid stuff working. I also agree with him. SF6 is a game for casual inpatients who don't wanna lab anything or learn any inputs hence modern Zangief (even JWong agrees that modern Zangief has serious advantages over classic Zangief) and DI.

It is hard to take SF6 that seriously given the reality that I know I can just play modern Zangief and win a hell of a lot of matches in a row with the standing 1 button super 3 on reaction or play Blanka/Honda. Blanka does actually take some skill with his corner setups and combos, but Honda takes literally zero. ANYONE can play Honda. Someone that's been lobotomized multiple times and had a building dropped on their head can play Honda.

I used to consider Street Fighter the "serious" FG, but honestly once MK1 and Tekken 8 comes out? I might be done with the series. 4 is never coming back. 3S is never coming back. SFV took until its death basically to finally be alright, but the netcode was still trash. Capcom have been really ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ the bed for the past decade when it comes to Street Fighter.

Losing to modern Zangief and Honda is seriously like why ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ bother playing this game if its considerably more scrubby than Mortal Kombat/Injustice/DBZ? Modern Zangief super 3'ing you on reaction or Honda changing his buttslam timing (always +1 on block) isn't really a "skill issue". It's a, "Capcom made a scrubby ass game so casual players with no skills can win and feel better about themselves which allows Capcom to sell a lot of copies of Street Fighter 6" issue. Capcom sold a hell of a lot of copies of this game, but is it honesty that good? I don't think so. Motley Crue and Journey sold a hell of a lot of albums too, but I think they both suck ass and I'd rather be deaf than have to listen to their music for the rest of my life.

It feels like SF6 is the complete joke fighting game now. It really does. Nobody is disputing that. ♥♥♥♥, I'd rather play MUGEN a lot of the time with nonsense like Mecha Tom Hanks. At least that game is silly and entertaining. Way more fun than SF6 most of the time if they're both a joke regardless. MUGEN isn't a very good game, but it is a fun game. SF6 often isn't a very good *OR* fun game. I always have *FUN* playing MUGEN at least.

Is the old FGC going to abandon Street Fighter? I have no idea. I'm sure modern Zangief is going to get banned in tournaments though because EVERYONE knows getting super 3'ed on reaction is broken ass BS. Modern Gief has super 3? You can't do ♥♥♥♥. Nothing. You're going to die. Your "best" case scenario is that he whiffs it, but that's it.

Real talk: Boomer award me. IDGAF. SF6 is a Zoomer brain garbage game in many ways.

Nice facts and logic on that twit.
There were pros that hated SF4 in its prime

Same with 5

6 wasn't gonna be an exception

Mena's a great player but even back in 5, he had takes that were questionable.

I love how the ultimate scrubs here are calling mena a scrub. His opinion in that tweet might be dumb, but he's still better than all of you combined. He's wrong here but If you think he's a "scrub" you are outing yourselves.

There's a few people saying that it's the 'scrubbiest SF game ever'. The one thing they tend to have in common is being exceedingly salty on streams. LTG being the most prime example but only one of several.

If you look at them play though, and their comments, it becomes incredibly clear that they're really upset that this game isn't Insert The SF Game They Were Best At and complain constantly about things even Gold and Plat players are adjusting and adapting to.

They'd find the game a lot less 'scrubby' if they had the mindset of the Birds, Punk, Nephew, Max and so on and so forth, who go in with a grin and an interest in learning and having fun while doing so.

Of course, the game has its little issues that need to be polished over time. There's some input weirdness going on where even the pros get wonky results where replays verify their inputs were correct but something else came out, and so on and so forth, but that's something that'll come in time.

tl;dr: Take these things with a grain of salt, and consider why exactly these people are providing said salt. Their skillsets didn't max out the first week and they're now dealing with having to learn more than they ever have before. The crowns and thrones are up for grabs and egos are getting terribly bruised by that.

The dude got a carreer out of SF5 when he was nothing in 4, "IF" SF6 is a scrub game he should be thankful for that, shut his ♥♥♥♥♥ mouth and enjoy Blanka while he still can.

Lmao my bad. Still, I don't see how the guy can trashtalk SF6 but apparently sees SF5 as the benchmark for a good competitive fighting game. It's an idiotic and biased take.

it has to many cheap mechanics

what does 'scrubbiest' mean anyway? :BL3Shrug:

does it come from the word 'scrub?' and what does 'scrub' mean?

Pretty sure a scrub is just a bad player who also has a bad/regressive attitude.
E.g. - "You only won because you used some cheap moves!"

It's a really weird statement. I can't tell if he means the game is full of scrubs, or if the game is designed for scrubs, or the game itself is a scrub? I'm leaning more to he just lost a set and then angrily tweeted out that the game was scrubby in a deluge of salt.

No point OP. This fanbase is too high on copium to admit their game has any flaws.

yah, it is a weird statement. I hope MenaRD, after winning 2 Capcom Cups and then a SF6 CEO champtionship, isn't using 'scrubbiest' as a euphemism for accessibility/inclusion. As in, because SF6 is the most inclusive to people who have never played fighting games before (eg, Modern Controls, World Tour) this means SF6 is the scrubbiest SF ever made.

If MenaRD goes down this route, the road of gatekeeping, I'm afraid that MenaRD is gravely mistaken, and hope he tweeted out of salty indignance.
