Same with 5
6 wasn't gonna be an exception
Mena's a great player but even back in 5, he had takes that were questionable.
If you look at them play though, and their comments, it becomes incredibly clear that they're really upset that this game isn't Insert The SF Game They Were Best At and complain constantly about things even Gold and Plat players are adjusting and adapting to.
They'd find the game a lot less 'scrubby' if they had the mindset of the Birds, Punk, Nephew, Max and so on and so forth, who go in with a grin and an interest in learning and having fun while doing so.
Of course, the game has its little issues that need to be polished over time. There's some input weirdness going on where even the pros get wonky results where replays verify their inputs were correct but something else came out, and so on and so forth, but that's something that'll come in time.
tl;dr: Take these things with a grain of salt, and consider why exactly these people are providing said salt. Their skillsets didn't max out the first week and they're now dealing with having to learn more than they ever have before. The crowns and thrones are up for grabs and egos are getting terribly bruised by that.
Hey, that pro doesn't count.
does it come from the word 'scrub?' and what does 'scrub' mean?
E.g. - "You only won because you used some cheap moves!"
It's a really weird statement. I can't tell if he means the game is full of scrubs, or if the game is designed for scrubs, or the game itself is a scrub? I'm leaning more to he just lost a set and then angrily tweeted out that the game was scrubby in a deluge of salt.
If MenaRD goes down this route, the road of gatekeeping, I'm afraid that MenaRD is gravely mistaken, and hope he tweeted out of salty indignance.
