Blanka does actually take some skill with his corner setups and combos, but Honda takes literally zero. ANYONE can play Honda. Someone that's been lobotomized multiple times and had a building dropped on their head can play Honda.

I used to consider Street Fighter the "serious" FG, but honestly once MK1 and Tekken 8 comes out? I might be done with the series. 4 is never coming back. 3S is never coming back. SFV took until its death basically to finally be alright, but the netcode was still trash. Capcom have been really ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ the bed for the past decade when it comes to Street Fighter.

Losing to modern Zangief and Honda is seriously like why ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ bother playing this game if its considerably more scrubby than Mortal Kombat/Injustice/DBZ? Modern Zangief super 3'ing you on reaction or Honda changing his buttslam timing (always +1 on block) isn't really a "skill issue". It's a, "Capcom made a scrubby ass game so casual players with no skills can win and feel better about themselves which allows Capcom to sell a lot of copies of Street Fighter 6" issue. Capcom sold a hell of a lot of copies of this game, but is it honesty that good? I don't think so. Motley Crue and Journey sold a hell of a lot of albums too, but I think they both suck ass and I'd rather be deaf than have to listen to their music for the rest of my life.

It feels like SF6 is the complete joke fighting game now. It really does. Nobody is disputing that. ♥♥♥♥, I'd rather play MUGEN a lot of the time with nonsense like Mecha Tom Hanks. At least that game is silly and entertaining. Way more fun than SF6 most of the time if they're both a joke regardless. MUGEN isn't a very good game, but it is a fun game. SF6 often isn't a very good *OR* fun game. I always have *FUN* playing MUGEN at least.

Is the old FGC going to abandon Street Fighter? I have no idea. I'm sure modern Zangief is going to get banned in tournaments though because EVERYONE knows getting super 3'ed on reaction is broken ass BS. Modern Gief has super 3? You can't do ♥♥♥♥. Nothing. You're going to die. Your "best" case scenario is that he whiffs it, but that's it.

Real talk: Boomer award me. IDGAF. SF6 is a Zoomer brain garbage game in many ways.

Go try and do a traditional standing 720 input on reaction. I really implore you to do it. Go try. Snake Eyez that won EVO with Zangief struggles with walking 720s and doesn't feel they're even worth doing. Modern Zangief can press 1 button and super 3 you for whiffing. You can fart and modern Zangief can super 3 you.

You can't press buttons. You can't be anywhere near him. You can't attempt to throw him. You can *TRY* to keep him out forever, but Lariat moves him forward and Zangief has drive rush too along with armored moves and DI. Classic Zangief? I have hope in that MU. I believe that I can win. Modern Zangief? I believe I'm ♥♥♥♥♥♥ because if I do ANYTHING, I'm going to get super 3'ed.

If you have an Invincible to airborne strikes on frames 1-9 attack (for example), you can beat it, but if you do not have that....you're ♥♥♥♥♥♥. Cammy, DJ, Ken, Ryu, Luke, Blanka, Guile, and Honda can deal with it. I dunno about JP.

You still gotta time it correctly though obviously, but that's when his headbutts become more dangerous because those are really ♥♥♥♥♥♥ especially when he's up close and you're going to get chipped out from burnout. Then Honda has the overhead to command grab kara throw mix too. The majority of Honda players aren't going to learn anything about the character, but his kara command grab mix is dirty.

JWong is one of the most notable FG players on earth and he's making a mockery out of the game with modern Zangief. Like I said, I expect it'll get patched.

A mockery? Isn't Justin Wong retired from tournaments anyway? He certainly isn't winning any with modern Zangief. Neither is anyone else for that matter.

Not that tier list matter all that much, doubly so seeing how nobody can seem to agree. But it's generally agreed that he's on the lower end of the spectrum. Regardless of one button supers. It's just not much of an issue. Especially for people who are good enough to play for money.

if you wanna use J.Wong's handful of modern matches with M Gief as an example of how good Gief is he still puts him as the worst character in the game. much like most everyone else. Modern or Classic.

Justin Wong is also retired from the pro scene and mostly makes youtube content and enters tournaments for fun. He's still better than 99% of ranked though so he'll have a high winrate with any character he decides to play

It's strange that you bring his name anyway. He puts both modern and classic zangief at the bottom of his tierlist.
