So how does this "city lock", anti-aliasing, and in your opinion "no voice lines" make this the most boring fighter to release in a while?
1. It's more likely that YOU are just ass at neutral. However, even a broken clock is right twice a day....and you're correct about one thing....it is not Tekken. That's a completely different game. I'd give you your favorite color of crayon to eat for that one. "where you are at your opponent's face and it feels like a real fight." You are more than welcome to backpedal to the corner. Cammy, Kimberly, Juri, pretty much every character....even a sassy Dhalsim, will be more than happy to "get in your face" and take a massive dump on you.
No video game will ever have the "epicness (whatever the ♥♥♥ this means) or intensity of an actual fight. You can die from one punch in an actual fight. Closest games with that kind of damage ratio is Samurai Showdown and Bushido Blade (you're probably too young, my sweet summer child)....but they're not Tekken, am I right?
Using imagination of a real fight to make your point about a video game is cute but also retarded. You've never been in a real fight. Struggling to keep your Uncle off of you when your Mom leaves to get your Ritalin doesn't count. Sit down.
Shimmies do feel rewarding. As does countering D.I. when its abused. And side swapping out of a corner when you're in burn-out. And perfect parrying an abused poke. There's plenty to feel rewarded about, and if you're all out of intrinsic motivation: there's a tangible, physical reward with a monetary value of over $1,000,000 at the next Capcom Cup. Go gettem, scooter!
The D.I. and DR are colorful for reaction play. Realism has never been Street Fighter's aesthetic style, so....whatever. You do you, booboo.
2. Watch Chun Li's and Cammy's Medium and Heavy Kicks. Aint nothin dry about those animations....ahem....but anyway, go check out NRS games animations, especially the new MK1....if you lookin for that "dry".
3. Graphics have never been the main draw or focus of Street Fighter, it's about the system. Mortal Kombat has always been more about presentation and graphics, only in recent installments have they made an attempt at adding depth to their system. MK11 was one of the best looking fighting games. That doesnt mean SF has to look like the Homecoming Queen, it's good enough for what it is.
4. The open world may not be "revolutionary", but it's as open world as it gets for a single player mode in a fighting game, the last similar attempt was MK Deception's Konquest mode. The core audience of these games would buy, play, and enjoy these titles without it. It's just icing on the cake. Nobody that's serious about fighting games actually cares if it's ground breaking or not. It's for the casuals. The noobs. The SCRUBS. and the bored. them too.
Also, DeeJay and all other OG characters' personalities are based off of what many of us grew up with since SF!!: Some theme music, fighting animations, a win pose and ONE win quote, and some clothes, like MAXIMUM PANTS. This aint George R.R. Martin, bruh. Calm down.
5. Modern controls only divides the base at the lower ranks. Most players with actual skill aren't whining for it to be removed. "Some aspects of it are broken even at the highest level of play"? Really? Not one Modern user has sniffed anywhere near the finals in the recent tourneys. Desire to know More, Intensifies...
6. I live four hours away from even a small city and have no issues, even on late sessions on weekdays. My experience is anecdotal, your mileage may vary.
7. I've had some bugs, yes. It hasn't been game-breaking to where i can't even log on and play so....modern gaming, eh?
2. Does not own the game
3. Spending time on a games forum they do not like
You gotta get it together.
I wish you luck in finding something you actually enjoy to better spend your time.
