A possible solution for anyone having connectivity issues! (IPv6 issues with Capcom)
Alright, so I've spent the better part of a week having nothing but connectivity issues with this game. Capcom, in their infinite wisdom decided to put a system in place in an attempt to prevent sore losers from 'rage quitting' and avoiding point losses on Ranked Matches. This system is the yellow card, which will eventually become a red card and a 24 hour online ban. This makes trying to troubleshoot and resolve internet connection issues damn near impossible as you'll get a red card as quickly as three matches.

A little about my set up:

I have an AT&T gigbit internet connection that's hardwired. I work in telecommunications, ran and prepped the cables. My system and internet connection was perfectly fine for pretty much everything I used it for over the past 5 years I've been in this house. Never had internet issues with games and have spent many a sessions playing Diablo 4 for hours on end.

However, from the get-go with SF6, I had connectivity issues. I was constantly disconnecting from their network, though it didn't seem like it was an equal amount across the board. If I played World Tour, I would OCCASIONALLY disconnect from their servers. If I played in the Battle Hub on a cabinet, it wouldn't occur until after one or two matches after selecting the 'rematch' option. Oddly, I was able to do Avatar Battles with little to no issue and if I went to Fighting Grounds and set up a custom room, I was able to play 25 consecutive matches without a single problem.

I contacted Capcom and I got the usual run around. Check and restart your router. Check that your PC is receiving the speeds you're supposed to be getting. Basically, anything and everything that wasn't helpful. Working in Telecom I began troubleshooting. I tested the cable with a Cat6 identifier to verify my pins were correct and the cable was passing signal properly. I tried swapping ports on my AT&T gateway (I've always had my desktop hooked into the gigbit port with zero issues). I tried another device (my laptop) connected on the same line to my gateway. Nothing was working.

Randomly, I decided to connect my desktop to the WiFi that's built into my motherboard. To my surprise, I had zero issues other than the slight delay that exists from playing on a wireless connection. Stunned, I continued to play games back to back with no problems in all environments. Bewildered, I began to dive deeper into the issue.

A lot of wireless connections don't use IPv6, they use IPv4. However, newer devices and higher end gear from ISPs have been implementing it recently.

I logged into my AT&T gateway and found that IPv6 was enabled. I disabled this in both the gateway and my ethernet settings under Network Settings, rebooted both devices and I've been pretty much playing flawlessly on my wired connection ever since.

If you're suffering from connectivity issues, frequent disconnects and basically almost unable to play the game you spent your hard earned money on, check your connection settings for anything IPv6 related.

I sincerely hope this resolves other people's issues with the game and I'll be forwarding these findings to Capcom as well!

I refunded the game for this exact reason. It's 2023, how does your game not support wired IPv6 connections. They lost my money. I also have no interest in forcing IPv4 or hopping on a VPN to get the connection I need for it to work properly. I'll just wait for Tekken and hope they bother to do it right.

I know it sucks but downloading a VPN takes 2 minutes and all you have to do is click a button and you are done. I use Cloudfare WARP and it solved all my connection issues, just click on it, play and then close it when im done. Its on Capcom to fix this ♥♥♥♥ but if you want to play you have no choice, got to adapt.
Definitely gonna try fiddling with this. It's insane that this is like *THE* fighting game and the online borders on unplayable. Extremely fun and well-made game but wew what a colossal blunder.

I might look into this. I know my stuff is IPv6. If this is the cause then that'd be the weirdest f'ing problem to have, as I'm not having this issue with any other game, including Capcom's newest game, Exoprimal.
Can all but confirm this works. Made the change and I've only been dropped from one match all night (pretty certain it was a rage quit).

No, it's not that easy to set up a VPN. Why? It costs money. All free vpn's are trash or trials.

There is no reason that a game has to force you to use a VPN. You apologists really need to get a life.
