Best Fighting Game Ever Made?

Street Fighter 6 has been out for a minute now. We've had some time to digest. Its pretty good isn't it?
I mean everyone is strong for the most part and the game is fun to play. The Drive System is honestly one of the best fighting game systems I can think of. The splting of resources and the utility of it is just brilliant.

The accessibility the game has given new players is a great thing as well. Despite how people feel about Modern Controls. We have more people then ever playing fighting games and that's huge. I've seen too many games dead on arrival for the lack of a large player base. (Capcom Fighting Collection for a recent example. Or Samurai Shodown)

Look at Guilty Gear Strive. I'm a huge fan of the old Guilty Gear games going way back. It had the players but people dropped it. Strive really tired its hardest to make itself accessible. But in doing so, they ended up really stripping down what made Guilty Gear so unique I think. Dumbing down characters and limiting the freedom of expression old time fans came to expect of of the series. I really just hated that game. Also the lobby system was broken at launch, and just stupid in concept.

Street Fighter 6 succeeded where Strive failed. That's just a huge accomplishment that is often overlooked I think. Its also wasn't broken at launch. They patched out that weird grab exploit setting thing. Nobody had like a dumb unblockable or infinite. Inputs are kinda weird at times. Like "there is no way that super came out" sort of stuff. I'm pretty precise as well and I know its not just me. That may be my biggest gripe so far. Other then that, its just a really solid game.

I'm looking forward to seeing how SF6 matures over time because its honestly shaping up to be one of the best fighting games off all time.

SFV had a smaller roster on launch than SFVI. The bigger roster will come in time.

True, but for the moment, SFV has the better characters, the wider variety and *my* favourite characters (Dan, Cody, Laura, Abigail ...).

To be honest, given the aesthetic choices of SF6, I'm not sure if the characters I want, will be included in the game, in the future. I want Fei Long, Cody, Dan, Abigail, G, Laura, Luccia, Rose, C. Viper, Bison ...

I’ve seen one modern player all week in diamond/master

And you would lose to modern too if you played someone like shuto

I have a few characters in diamond, I’ve barely played rank though, wasn’t hard to get into there. If I grind it I’d have no issue getting into master, the player quality isn’t that good where I was

They’re visuals novels, not dating sims

No you're right. Visual novels are not nearly as pathetic. Also I doubt it.

It's one of the best fighting games ever, if not the best, thanks to it's huge amount of content.

I got to diamond with one of my characters just from the placements alone. I’ve mostly been in player matches playing with most the cast. You can just look up my name on CFN with the Japanese characters only. Diamond is nothing, no reason to lie about it. Maybe I’ll do a rank grind soon just to get into master for the sake of it

As a translator I do a ton of reading. One of the reasons I’m heavily into visuals novels, it’s kinda my job
