hi how do i perfect strike after down heavy in advanced trial 1??

Luke's 214P has a funny mechanic where holding the button empowers the move, but it reaches full charge BEFORE releasing the attack. You have to let go when his arms flash for optimal advantage, but you can't do that on reaction, so you end up having to just feel it out.
If you're familiar with Vergil's Judgement Cut in DMCV, it's kind of like that.
