Recommend some good PC controllers?

I'm using an XBox Series X|S controller at the moment and, I suspect, the dpad is crapping out.
For some reason, my Right to Left DP is hit and miss, coming out maybe 7/10 times, with the rest resulting in just a punch. Same with the jin rai kick. Most of the time it works as it should, but a few times a dash pops out and ruins my momentum.

I've looked at youtube videos of controller options before, but they all tend to recommend going for "leverless" controllers, the button bashing sort of contraptions and I just don't think I'd be good with them - not sure if I can get my head around using them!

I'm just used to standard games console controllers, preferring larger old XBox 360 controllers ideally.

I just want something reliable, fast, good for fighting games (fps, racing, open world games work well enough with the Keyboard and mouse or the analogue stick) and well built. I need it to last a year or two, if I'm going to be spending serious money.

What controllers do you guys use? Anyone using PS4/PS5 controllers with the PC? Do you have to faff about with t he settings to get them to work and are they better than xbox series X|S controllers?

Oh and is the XBox Elire 2 controller worth it?

you can literally use whatever controller you want on pc either via adapter or direct via plugnplay. you like the old 360 pads? grab one and play with it. new doesnt mean always better.

I just got my Betop BEITONG Thorn Shadow from AliExpress the other day. It is only like $25 and is pretty good quality.

Either get DualSense Edge or Xbox Elite Series 2 Wireless Controller.

Get a Logitech one, can even pilot a sub with it.

Not going to lie leverless controllers have a huge learning curve. It took me about a week to get comfortable with my Victrix Pro FS-12. Still struggle with some inputs, but it's made my execution a lot cleaner in other areas.

They are especially great for charge characters, it's difficult to beat the speed and precision you get on charge inputs. Walking forward and hitting a QCF can be a pain in the ass if your character has a DP motion, as the timing is weird and if you ♥♥♥♥ it up you get a DP.

Prior to this I had a Qanba Obsidian for years, and it still going strong, really well made stick.

I mainly play fighting games with a leverless controller, but whenever I do use a pad I find the PS4 controller to be far more comfortable than either a Xbox or PS5 controller, I like the dpad on the PS4 better than the Xbox, and I find the dpad and buttons on the PS5 controller to be way too stiff. Its all personal preference though.

Also if you wanna try out to see if a leverless controller is for you, but don't wanna risk wasting your money on something you won't enjoy, you can set up your keyboard like a leverless controller

ASD for Left Down Right
Space for Jump

And whatever buttons you want for the rest personally I'd use
