Carlos Miyamoto SWORD version Side Quest is SUPER easy. Look inside to see how to do it
You need Dhalsim's style.

1. Spam standing 3 or jumping back 5 as needed. This is literally the bread and butter. You don't actually need anything else. The other tips are just helpful suggestions.
2. Block or jump back or just watch when he does his super damaging sword combo depending on how close he is to you. Counter with 3.
3. Use your Master tag in to help.
4. Use Drive Impact or Drive Reversal if you need to.

I tried with a few characters and it was pretty brutal but this made it a total cakewalk. I totally crushed him with no effort at all.

I just cleared this very quest earlier today after putting it aside for a while to level to 50. I'm a Chun Li. I don't recall him being as challenging on a prior run through as a Blanka - he couldn't handle my balls. With Chun Li, it seemed like only throws and Kikokens were of any use. That sword skill of his seems to have special properties to it that make it harder to defend against, but I'm not sure how to be more specific.

Good to know that Blanka might be good too. But for anyone web searching, Dhalsim is cakewalk mode.

The mission is meant to teach you how to bait and punish, you can't block it, parry it, or DI his sword combo anime thing.
You're supposed to walk in, wait for him to pull it out since it has a long startup, dash back or jump back, and when he's done with it (it all has distinct animations) jump in while he's weak and do a ton of damage all at once.
It's actually really simple, but by the time most people get to him they've learned to play unga bunga. He humbles you a bit, sure as ♥♥♥♥ did me. It's a good lesson though.
