Good way to practice anti airing?
I know that there's already a default setting in training mode but it feels really basic and not really helpful.

In matches I can barely pull off a single anti air on opponents even if they are jumping every 5 seconds. I've repeatedly tried cleaning up my DP input and I still can't do it in time, and I can barely get the timing and distance for c.HP correct.

Also I should clarify that I main Jamie, who has a DP but its weird since you have to land the first hit of it to do the full move, so idk if he's the problem, but its unlikely since I see a lot of pros doing it just fine.

First practice using your normal. Every character, perhaps not with modern controls but on classic at least, has a standard anti air. Easy to pull off, worst case it will trade damage. Once you're comfortable having that down, you know you have something reliable which takes the mental stack off, then try reacting with your DPs cus now you have a fall back if it's not coming out for you.

Failing that, buffer the input, which leaves you semi open in neutral, or just keep practising it but don't beat yourself up when you're just learning. Also note a lot of pros have thousands of hours of practice and an expensive pad/hitbox/stick so they're going to make these things look easy. It's literally what they do.

Try Modern controls. Jaime has a 1 button Arrow Kick.

might want to do a crouching dp input so you can delay it in this case

I personally don't like modern controls. While having a one button DP is a blessing, I much prefer having access to my full moveset, even if it means I have to get gud

i see. anti-air is always difficult because it's based on the situational timing of the match-up. aside from spending hours in the Training room practicing your Arrow Kick against a training dummy, you could instead try countering your opponents jump in, with a jump attack of your own. Sometimes hitting them in the air is easier.

And for the best way to practice -- Ranked mode or Battle Hub cabinets. There's nothing like playing against a real opponent to learn the moveset of the opposing characters, and see how and where they jump in, so you can counter with your Arrow Kick.

set the dummy to jump at you with something you usually get hit by and just try to AA it its a timing thing and also not all AA are created equal sadly

you might also try going air to air instead with jumping medium or heavy kicks, some people find that easier than adjusting position for the normal anti air.

there's an anti-air practice preset in training mode

surprised no one mentioned this yet
basically just ryu jumping back n forth doing air roundhouse/forward
test / practice to to your heart's content
spacing, buttons, timing, you name it
