We don't kink shame here
Anyway a truck is a truck, even if some alphabet infused tell you it's a car.
I mean, look, it's simple: There are woman because it brings variaty. If you believe it or not, DoA also has male characters. Crazy, I know.
If Marisa was made 10 years ago, nobody would assume a agenda. The only thing that would be different is that she would be russian. Because, you know, that trope is old.
10 years ago nobody would call Arnold Schwrazenegger with a wig and some lipstick a good looking woman.
NOBODY. except for the "joke" of course, Arnold was even pregnant remember? What a visionary movie :D
I've seen this a lot elsewhere too how people will talk ♥♥♥♥ about female characters like Juri or Cammy in past games or Laura etc.
But then in the next breath they'll talk about how hot they think Marisa is and how sexually appealing they think she is.
Like I don't really care, I think people getting characters they like is good one way or the other.
I just find the hypocrisy really annoying how people moralize about it and act like everyone else is a '' pervert '' for liking other characters when they themselves like a character for the same reason.
It reminds me of people who talk ♥♥♥♥ and endlessly complain about revealing attire in games but then in the next breath say '' fully clothed women are sexier anyways ''.
Like wtf lol...
It's literally just a fetishization of modesty how is it any different at all.
Like these types of dumb generalizations is a part of it too.
Yes lets treat people like a monolith /s.
You're assuming intent and also generalizing what women and men like and why in a way that is meant to moralize and shame people.
It's stupid and lazy, it's really no better than the OP tbh.
You're just the same but the other side of the same coin, you're engaging in the same behaviour.
I think that maybe you misinterpreted my comment a little bit, or maybe not I dunno.
But to be clear I was also criticizing people who are going after the OP but then fetishize characters themselves but act morally superior about it.
Like you and someone else was talking about Abby in TLOU2 too.
I've seen this with her character too how some people will talk ♥♥♥♥ about other more conventionally attractive female characters in games, but then in the next breath they'll sexualize Abby.
Lara Croft comes to mind too, how people will talk ♥♥♥♥ about Classic Lara for her bust size and uh for wearing shorts.
But then in the next breath they'll sexualize reboot Lara and talk about how much sexier she is.
Like often times it feels like people just want what they find appealing but then act superior about it and like other people are gross.
It's very clear that some people like Marisa because she fits what they find sexually appealing.
And then they will complain about more conventionally feminine characters for being feminine and shame them.
They'll essentially engage in the same behaviour that the OP is engaging in only the other way around and not see the blatant hypocrisy in it.
Personally I think that more options is better, my main issue is when options are being removed or replaced not when options are being added.
And I do feel like this is happening in gaming nowadays.
I just think that a lot of the people going after the OP are not really in a position to do so.
The criticism rings hollow when a lot of people engage in the same behaviour themselves.
Not saying everyone here is doing it, I am also speaking a bit about what I've seen elsewhere too.
Edit: I play FFXIV and it's the same there, female Roegadyn players in particular are quite infamous for it.
They give Miqo'te, Au'ra and Viera players ♥♥♥♥ for playing them, but then they themselves fetishize their own characters and clearly play Roegadyn because they think those types of women are sexually appealing.
The hypocrisy of this is just ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ annoying and it's so frequent.
The benefit to there hypocritical behavior is that not only do they get to feel superior and get virtue signaling points, but they simultaneously get to advocate for their own personal fetishes to not only be included, but be accepted as the default standard that we should either accept or adopt in order to maintain speaking privileges.
Its one thing to not like a characters design but when your complaining about the lack of X when in the same trailer there is plenty of X is just weird.
I'd get the complaints that these designs are woke or what ever if every single female character had similar design elements but they don't. Juris feet, jiggle physics, Manon, all these things go against when they are saying.
Oh, but when they reveal Cammy I guess you'll finally be able to jack off to a fighting game. Or probably you'll complain because she isn't showing enough ass! Hahahaha.
