60FPS on PC
Anyone know why the game is limited to 60FPS in online battles on PC? is this a network coding thing? like if two players have different frame rates there might be a problem matching hits counters etc?

Most of the fightin games are locked on 60fps.

Apprently you can run the game at 120Fps on lobby and solo modes, actual fights should still be lock at 60fps
i don't have access to the beta so it would be nice if someone can confirm it or tell us exactly what's going on

Yes, if frame rates are diferent that might cause a desync between the players, thats also why MK11 runs a benchmark before you can get into online

Nice to know, Thanks Xerus.

Most fighting games run at 60fps. The reason is that FGs have frame data that are built on that fixed frame rate. Each attack has a fixed number of startup/active/recovery frames, and the math works around that to make it simple while also ensure nothing funny occurs because people are running different framerate.

With PS5 and XSX capable of 120hz output, there's no reason why fighting games should still be locked to 60. Give people an option to toggle 120fps during fights. There's a mod to unlock the framerate in Tekken 7 and it works fine as long as both people have it installed. Not only would you be getting higher framerates, but you'd also get the benefit of reduced input latency.

They're locked to 60FPS because of frame rate data. If this game has cross-play then they have to limit it across all systems so that there's no advantage to online play.

Care to explain how I'm so wrong then? Higher framerates always coincides with reduced input lag.

how does a visual representation of a game correlate with the game reading inputs from a controller? It doesn't, HUGE misconception.
Because framerates are tied to game physics, otherwise running at extremely high framerate would cause your character to be played at extremely fast speed, causing desynchronization.

Not if your game is programmed properly.

No
Fps games are NOT FGC Games
As many guys said before, most fighting games run constantly on 60fps REGARDLESS OF your PC performance or internet speed

I'm well aware of how fighting games work. Doubling the framerate isn't suddenly somehow going to break the game.
