Not Disability Friendly
I wish I could try enjoying this game but... it hurts too much to play. I tried playing the demo with a controller and got through the tutorial before giving up from the pain.

I have a disability that makes it painful to do repetitive movement over long periods of time. With controllers I can usually play a game much longer before needing to make a break.

Almost **everything** you do in this game requires to hold down a button. Even something that ought to be simple like moving an item into your inventory? Gotta hold down a button. Interacting with any of the coffee machines? Hold a button. Give a coffee to a customer? Hold the button. Drinking blood from a worshiper? Hold the button. Sprinting? Hold a button (the walking speed is SO slow that it feels like you have to sprint to get anywhere... even if its just across the coffee shop). I know that a lot of games have you hold buttons for various things, but the amount of button holding you do back to back is ridiculous.

When I reached the part of the game where you get to farm... Collecting each vegetable from the farm involves double tapping a button for every single plant. That on top of holding all the buttons became so incredibly painful.

I should also note that I started playing this game without having stressed my muscles. And after a brief break from this game, I went to a different one and was able to play for hours without any pain.

Hello Nighttsong, thank you sincerely for playing Brocula's demo and for sharing your thoughts with me. I understand your concern about the frequent use of hold buttons and apologize for any frustration it may have caused.

Managing stamina and time are integral aspects of Brocula's gameplay, and I acknowledge that the current implementation may feel overwhelming. As a solo developer, I'm constantly striving to strike the right balance between challenge and accessibility, and your feedback is invaluable in guiding this process.

Rest assured, your suggestion to reduce reliance on hold buttons is something I take to heart. While I can't promise an immediate fix, I'm deeply committed to exploring ways to enhance the gameplay experience and ensure that playing Brocula is enjoyable and stress-free for everyone.

Thank you once again for your input and for being a part of Brocula's journey. Your feedback drives my continuous improvement efforts, and I'm grateful for your support and understanding.

I can only confirm that as a gamer, any and all [hold] mechanics are almost always extremely tedious and unwanted. Also unnecessary. Some kind of a side effect of Consoles games of the past, which somehow got traction due to the same people that thought quicktime events were a good idea.

Edit: I just read there's no mouse support. I can only confirm that as a gamer, this is almost insulting.
And I say gamer. Not console peasant or mobile zombie.
I can't quite understand why. And even if mouse support is added eventually, the fact it wasn't even needed plays into my 35+ years of gaming experience and tells me a lot about how the game is made, and with what kind audience in mind, which directly lowers my interest in the title as a whole.

I'm sure this may sound childish to some.

Either way no dice without mouse support.

I'm sorry to hear about your recent experience. I totally get that some UI interactions or gameplay mechanics might require a mouse. And I absolutely respect your expertise with 35+ years of experience - that's truly impressive.

But just because I don't use a mouse for this game doesn't mean it's any less thoughtfully made. Let's keep the dialogue open and constructive. Your feedback is valuable, and I'm here to listen.

Additionally, I wanted to let you know that I am planning to incorporate re-mappable keys and mouse support in the future. Implementing these features may take some time, but I'm committed to making the game accessible and enjoyable for all players. So, I encourage you to revisit the game when these features are available and see how they enhance your experience.

Thanks again for your feedback and understanding.

Yikes, imagine thinking games should only be enjoyed by people without disabilities. Who would have thought about that.
