Bus-wise, I saw that a lot of Hong Kong buses has already been made in the workshop:
https://steamcommunity.com/workshop/browse/?appid=1364210&searchtext=Hong+Kong&childpublishedfileid=0&browsesort=textsearch§ion=
And with most 7OM's mod you can create a kinda authentic late 80s to early 2000s experience, I just feel a bit boring after 180 game days with those buses then getting some B8Ls for modern vibes.
Then for the "Suburbs" like Sha Tin, Tsuen Wan and Aberdeen, a short connection from those to trunk stops. Faraway towns like Tuen Mun, Sheung Shui, Tung Chung (with VHHH) just set up the major highway route connect them to the downtown.
If you think 100 pax waiting at stops is already insane, Yee Wo Street (Causeway Bay), Cross Harbor Tunnel BBI and The Landmark (Central) are guaranteed to have 300+ pax waiting for buses if you dared to operate any tunnels routes serving those regions.
And those routes are carrying 1000+ passengers per tour in 10 minutes interval, IRL I think it's about 500 pax per tour in 8 minutes interval, because there's MTR running in average 3 minutes interval carrying 1000+ pax per tour IRL, in CBM the railway effect is close to none especially when the the willingness level is that high, everyone just want to take bus and get stacked like sardines.
I would never try sandbox mode because the progress is fun, grind for money to set up longer routes using larger bus is what I'm looking for.
