New Depots (beta feedback)
Am I the only one disappointed by them? I was expecting just more depots like the original one - instead I got ugly dark underground car parks. Nothing to build there, invisible drivers, outsourced cleaning and repairing. I hate them so much, I stopped playing.

If you hate them that much, then don't use them! I think they are a good idea myself.

I'm sorry to hear that you are disappointed with the new virtual depots. We also thought about having multiple depots like the main depot where you can build, but we decided to use the parking garages as virtual depots for two main reasons:

Performance: If you had 15 main depots running in parallel, we would have extreme performance problems.

Simplicity: We got a lot of feedback from players who wanted to focus on building the routes rather than the 3D depot. So we thought this was a good compromise to make it as simple as possible for those players, but still allow the other player group to use the main depot for building.

The question is what is the goal of this game?

- As bus line builder, the realism is missing for me. As in real life, not every city is only served by busses. Here you need hundreds of them to cover all the routes. I miss trams, subways, trains etc.
But multiple depots are mandatory as busses don't drive through the entire state to reach the start point of a line.

- As depot builder and manager, the new solution is clearly a disappointment.
The current depots are way to small, single floor for staff buildings is a lack, the weird sizing of paking lots and streets make it hard to use fully use the space (there is always a place which cannot be used because no object fits in)

If will be only one depot to manage, please add at least one upper floor and a basement for additional underground parking lots. :)

compromises for games are NEVER a good idea, OPTIONS are.
option for players who wants just build lines (which in my eyes is a terrible game concept, because it's just one thing to do then) : give the option for adding this parking lots where you pay for the services but don't have to take care off anything. option for players who want diverse and detailed gameplay: let them build a real 2nd /3rd depot. or other something else to do. this right now is just not enough for keep me interested.
for me the game is silly now, I expect from a game the longer I play, the more mechanics, more deepness is added, here the longer I play the less I have to do. right now just 2 things left to do: painting lines on the map and clicking on "repair" button and select some options. sorry, that's just not enough to keep me engaged.
where is the manager part in "city bus manager" in endgame? it's just "city busline designer" now...

I'd argue it's already extremely easy as is to build routes though. To have more routes, you should be doing lots of work that takes lengthy periods. Euro Truck Simulator you need to spend hundreds of hours to get somewhere. This game just feels too easy to complete, right now my issue is that every research is completed so I am also just making more routes while having to use only the 191 seater Citaros as real life quiet routes are overcrowded here. Of course that means no fleet variety.

It's only available as part of beta. Steam > Library > City Bus Manager (right click) > properties > beta > beta branch.

I think it's a good concept. For example, In real life, intercity bus companies such as Greyhound, lease parking spots in certain cities to park their buses and has contracts in place to use the lessee's workers for cleaning and light maintenance.

Is there a way to use these depots as a "layover" place so that instead having to implement a 30 min wait times between shifts we can just get the busses to here and then at night move them back into the actual depot fro maintenance and cleaning
