This is probably completely abandoned
If your looking at this considering purchasing it your probably better off buying Terraria. Or even starbound. this game doesnt have much content like very very little. And it seemed like the team that was working on it originally "working on it" i say apprehensively because they did very little to the game in its entire EA period.

I mean, if you're looking at this before having played terraria or starbound, you don't know how to pick your games.

I've no clue about the dev progression but the game has some fresh elements if you're a crunchy veteran to the genre. I'd have to greatly recommend realms of magic and planet centauri if you're into this kind of genre.

yea, the devs ran out of money and disbanded

Also there was no EA period. The deal they had with the publisher forced them go straight into release with an unfinished game

Planet Centauri is a pile of garbage my god that game is almost worst than this one. Actually its definitely worst the character creation is trash. The UI is just a joke. Tech tree looks like they had no idea what they were doing when they made it. Like overall that game is obviously a failure and i'm pretty sure the positive reviews are botted since literally a week ago it had negative reviews.

I liked it quite a bit more but it was also a hot mess of prolly abandonware, lmfao. I enjoyed the exploration aspects and goofy ass pokeball system as well as the base building quite a bit more than farworlds.

I DO however really like farworld's firearm system. Steady fire actually works but trigger hold functions how it should during panic, lmfao. Centauri was more high fantasy and less grounded in that regards.

Yeah unfortunately it looks like Planet centauri at least from what I can gather from the negative reviews they actually removed some things when the 1.0 released and the 1.0 patch did literally nothing. I really didn't give it much time as I saw too many issues with the 10 minutes of it i played sadly. It looked like it would be fun but the game just didn't feel good to play at all. I am sad with farworld I had high hopes for this game because what was there was really fun its just completely unfinished in its current state and it probably never will be finished. like a lot of games going to the EA graveyard.

Yes, it hurts a lot what has happened to this game, because it had a lot of potential and unfortunately it has come to nothing.

So many games that this can be said about maybe someday some genius dev will buy up all the EA's that died too early and finish them up and make a boat load of them.
If you are into Terraria like games you may check out Windforge, it has it's flaws in terms of inventory naviagtion, but it has some ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ brilliant mechanics, besides Terraria, one of my absolute highlights in terms of "real" sandbox games. I can also recommend Signs of Life kinda, not super much content but also some great mechanics.
Oh and Realms of Magic is a banger indeed, can't wait for the remake. However I was quite annoyed after beating the game multiple times and in the final version of the game I got softlocked so I could get the last Achivements. Need to run through again sometime.
personally I would recommend Necesse. It is a top down vs a side scroller but feels a lot like terraria combined with rimeworld. One of the things I liked abut Farworld Pioneers was that the colonists actually were meant to do something and Necesse dose a great job of that as the can craft, farm, cook, defend, and even organize your item chests for you. Every game I play like this now I wonder why they don't have an inventory system like Necesse now as it makes life so much eraser once you set it up.
