Fortunately though you get your fourth pretty early on
Seems as though there's a lot of really odd design choices in this game, even the shop is dreadfully awkward to navigate, can't buy a katana in the equipment side but I can in the items side? wtf? lol.
I think it depends on which character you have 'picked' as the one doing the shopping, like you'll only get items they can equip
It's true that there's overlap in the different parts of it that doesn't feel natural though
I know, but what I meant was at the time with only three characters I couldn't choose to put them in the back row like I could in games like Etrian Odyssey.
But it's ok, your team fills out quickly enough that it stops being an issue as I've just found out lol.
Its a little complex and unexplained so I hope this helps for party formations.
Like i said its a little convaluted and not very well explained, and i had to tinker to figure that out myself.
Please take a few moments to look for things before fussing about design decisions. The first review of this game on steam was someone saying you couldn't change to fullscreen, well if had given it 5 minutes and looked around a bit, there is a fullscreen there.
However, some things like how to change party formation, even if it's there it doesn't help if it's in an obscure location. I never would have expected to go look on the main character's squire status page to find that option. An individual character page is not where players would intuitively go for a party management option. Where you put such things IS part of the game design, and can rightfully be criticized as such if a common game element is placed in an obscure location.
I appreciate your help, despite the backhand.
I've been playing for 13 hours and the option to reorder the party is EXTREMELY WELL HIDDEN. I did not run across it and would never have thought to look in "Squire Status". I've never seen a reorder option so hidden. This should certainly be more visible.
