Game lag
I have a 1920x1080 monitor, and turning it down to 1280x720 it still lags, even when I put resolution scaling all the way down as well. It seems before the update I didn't have this issue at all and could smoothly play the game at 1366x768. Endless skate does not currently lag, but when recording a video or attempting challenges the frame rate drops and becomes unplayable. I know I only have integrated graphics, but I still think the game should run a lot better, as it ran completely fine before being updated as I stated before. Is anyone else having this issue?

Same problem even with a dedicated GPU. Endless skate is smooth, but the game seems to eat a lot of CPU during challenges

Same. FPS in Challenges goes into potato mode after a couple seconds -- it's unplayable. What's even more strange -- I think it only works like that if you have a controller plugged. Besides, pls fix your graphic options because they reset every time you go to other menus, so at this point I'm not even sure that my changes are actually in place.

Edit:

I've tested and I'm pretty sure that the lag comes in only when you plug in a controller...

Try this: go to Steam\steamapps\common\Skate City\SkateCitySteam_v1.0.0.144\Skate City_Data\StreamingAssets and remove the FFmpeg folder. Mind that you will not be able to record videos

Guys, I may have found a temporary solution to the lag drops and problems. When I use my controller wireless over bluetooth as compared to plugged in, the lag is less. But there are still bad spikes during challenges and while recording. But at the very least, It's slightly more playable. I get 60 FPS with lag spikes of up to 10-20 FPS. I was able to complete some challenges and record some videos, but the lag is still a problem.

It doesn't work for me, maybe we have different issues. Mine is the game launches this ffmpeg.exe during challenges or video recording and it uses all the CPU. You can esily see it in task manager. Killing the process makes the game crash, but moving the folder out allow you to play smoothly.

Came here to see if anyone else was experiencing this. Am experiencing the exact same on steam deck - endless skate is fine, challenges are pretty much unplayable

Been thinking about this, having had the exact same issues as you, and I’m wondering if the bundled version of ffmpeg is outdated, or badly optimised. Going to do some digging when I get to my steam deck and see if there is a workaround, like adding some command line arguments to make it run better.

I’ll report back in this thread.
