Xbox to Steam Crossplay?

Back when the game released it was said this wasn't possible due to a version incompatibility. Is this fixed now? If so how does the crossplay work. I'm trying to play with friends on Xbox and even after having both of us link our accounts to Epic Games Store I don't see any way of actually inviting them to my games or vice-versa.

The short answer to your question is unfortunately no.

Complicated subject so I put all the info below :

First of all, let's be clear and transparent. The game doesn't include full cross-play allowing all players to enjoy their party pizza together.

The platform to put aside is the Switch. On this console you can only play with other gamers from the same ecosystem.

Then there are 4 types of connections that can be made :

1-Xbox one / Series X & S <=> PC Game pass / Microsoft Store
Natural connection between them knowing that everything is part of the same environment.

2-PS4 <=> PS5
The same goes for these two, you can fight together between both Playstation consoles.

3-Steam <=> PC Game pass / Microsoft Store
In this case, both platforms allow cross-play and enable players to connect with each other.

It will be necessary that all the players have an epic account (and that these accounts are friends) to allow the cross-play.

4-Steam <=> PC Game pass / Microsoft Store <=> Xbox one / Series X & S
Last configuration resulting from all that has been said above.

Never say never, but for now any other cross platform interactions will not be possible.
