[STILL UNCLEAR] Multiplayer between Steam and Game Pass/Windows Store versions

Don't like starting new topics when I can search instead, but I'm not seeing *clear* and *concise* answers to these questions, so here goes:

a) Can the Steam version of Shredder's Revenge do multiplayer with people running the Game Pass/Windows Store version?

2) If yes, how do you find specific people (IRL friends) who are on the other version? Not random players; specific people.

EDIT: It would appear that the answer, presently, is a big shrug.

I tried yesterday when the game came out, with a friend of mine who has it on Gamepass, and we both linked the Epic accounts, because we noticed it was the only option available there, but it did not work, we could not see each other's parties.

Maybe we did something wrong or maybe it's buggy at the moment and needs a fix, but yeah I feel it's odd that there's conflicting information in this thread but with no further details or more people claiming if it works.

Well, that's it, I can tell you all that it did not work for me, so...I'm not sure what's going on, I have not seen any developers commenting on the issue either :S

A friend of mine got it on Steam. I was playing with another friend on Gamepass PC. I wasn't able to invite my steam friend, but the person I was playing with on Gamepass PC and the steam friend linked to Epic, opened epic, and then my gamepass friend was able to invite the Steam player to my room.

So confirmation for cross play between Gamepass PC and Steam, provided that you both link your epic accounts.

There is currently an issue with Xbox being stuck on an old build. Trying to get it through Microsoft.
This unfortunately impacts cross play as there is a version mismatch between Steam and Xbox.
But normally, Steam, Windows Store and Xbox should work together.

Ah, maybe this is the cause for some of the confusion with what you need for crossplay even though of course Epic is one way. Glad to see it is being looked into, even though that is not even on you guys.

Same setup and problem. Am I missing something? I'd love to join a public game but I only see the option to host.
