No CRT filters in a pixel art game... WTF
Why devs lately don't include proper filters in pixel art games? I guess Reshade it is... Raw pixels look terrible on a TV

hopefully reshade works in the first place, some games don't let it apply.

Definitely going to add the standard vibrance, gamma contrast, sharpening and bloom. Then play around with scanlines.

Well, hopefully they add some options for it in a later update. Would look way better with some CRT visual customisation's using Reshade. Luckily, I have a pretty good preset to throw at it with some adjustments if need be.

There's a crt royale port for reshade. Look it up.

TV....lol

Nothing beats scanlines for these pixel art games. People who actually played these things on CRT arcade screens back in the day will understand, I've never seen the effect simulated very well though...

I wonder if it's possible to make an app for windows that just applies a CRT overlay to your screen.
No one seems to have done that so it must not be possible.

Would make it easy for a lot of retro games and indie games.

In my case I actually have a CRT display and a HDMI to composite converter for it; but games on PC never fit an old CRT aspect ratio well.

this game doesnt need it havent you seen the beatiful pixel art this game has?

why would you ruin beautiful pixel art with a filter lol

I'm fine with it being unfiltered. Back when I was a kid playing NES and genesis on CRTs I always wished the visuals were less blurry. I never used CRT filters or scan lines, especially on modern pixel art games, the art in this is gorgeous! Why ruin that with a filter? Especially when most filters look nothing like a real CRT. It's nice for nostalgia sake, but I like going forward instead of backward, gimme those raw sharp pixels any day of the week.

....but then again...I might not need/want it...but options are nice to have.

Uh... we have ReShade, dude. Just download the RetroArch shader pack when you first set it up with the game and you'll get the best CRT filters no AAA dev could ever make.

It's not "ruining" the pixels, it's enhancing the mood and nostalgia. Not to mention pixel games look far better with a good CRT filter.

Actually, there is a CRT overlay, but the effect isn't nearly as good as the RetroArch shaders. It's called "SuperCRT".

A good CRT filter only enhances and improves the visuals, and smooths out jaggies. If you could see this running on a old school crt monitor you would understand , anyone know what API this game is using?

Modern pixel art games aren't made for CRT screens and thus, not with scanlines in mind.
While i do agree that it would be nice, it certainly isn't necessary

I didn't even know that existed, the game looks great with a light crt filter (i use nes mini), you're the hero of the day.

Filters look amazing. Problem bring 4K really makes it hard for filters to do their job. The pixels are blown up to such high-resolution that I find myself reaching for my 1080p set to play these games instead of my 55 inch C1.

Also, OP, Reshade and use Direct 11. Use whatever shaders you want. 4K makes it much harder to get a proper look IMHO. Like right now my Lottes filter barely even does anything to the image. Will try the Retroarch pack I guess. Might actually switch over to my other display or just use a slight CRT look.
