Does anyone even play mp anymore?
For the past couple months, no matter what time/day of the week I play, there are almost no parties in Arcade, and Survival is all but dead. If I do get lucky enough to find a party or have people actually join mine, they are the most inept trash at video games I've ever seen, if not just completely afk. There was one player that I sat in their lobby for a good 15 minutes before giving up and staring my own, and two hours later when i went to start/join a new game, they were STILL just sitting in their lobby.

As of right now there is a significant drop in the player base due to a severe bug running rampant that destroys games when PC players attempt to play with Xbox players. Disabling cross-play solves the problem but that also limits players even further. However they just released a patch today that is suppose to fix this issue among others.

As for Survival Mode. I wouldn't say it is dead but after playing three waves the rooms lock themselves so that no one else can join which makes it much more difficult to find games in progress. It would be easier to host or setup a game with friends over finding a random session.

Yes, and I've thought it was a bad idea since day one. Oh well.

As for the crossplay bug, I thought it only crashed the game (which I've encountered issues like that since the beginning). I had no idea it destroyed saves. In any case, there are no PC players, either, so... 🤷‍♂️

Nope. This game is for me and me alone. I am quite content with the nostalgia :)

That's all well and good but sometimes I like to get nice and stoned and just beat the ♥♥♥♥ out of the Foot with other people. :)

Add sent. Just so you know, I don't do voice chat or any of that. Just message, team up, and beat on those inter-dimensional dweebs!

I mostly play with friends with the rando joining option turned off. :BlankStare:

I just go into Story or Arcade and then hit LB to see who's playing. 99% of the time there's 2-3 servers that pop up but they're showing they're in Character Select and if you join that game, the host will literally sit there permanently and never start anything so I don't play that way anymore by trying to join other games. I stay the host.

I just jump in and use "Party Up" or whatever it's called and choose public players. With this kind of game, even bad players make it funner than going solo and what I like the most is each local machine can add multiple players so there can be 3 people in one house in my game and it can fill up quite fast.

We, as fans, need to keep the candle lit here...by playing more.

Well
Steam metrics do show the player base has dropped. But the fact you refer to the players that do join as "inept trash at video games" says to me that there are plenty of players still playing. Most games that are out this long do not have much of a casual player base. The fact unskilled or casual players are still there says to me that the player base is still pretty active.
