Why doesn't the intro show Michelangelo using his numchuck?
It shows the other 3 turtles weapons and then shows Michelangelo holding a pizza. I was really enjoying the nostalgia and just wondered what they were thinking. It doesn't fit

I hadn't noticed this before, but you're right: Michelangelo is never pictured holding his weapons. Even when he's actually fighting, he is unarmed.

This is inconsistent with the way the other Turtles are drawn in the cutscene, as well as with the 80's cartoon intro, in which he is generally shown with his weapons just like the other Turtles (except for the part where he dances and the lyrics declare him a party dude).

But I think it's consistent with his personality. The Ninja Turtles' visual designs have two obvious distinguishing features: the color of their bandannas, and their weapons. Depending on who's drawing, sometimes there's more, but those are the consistent differences between them.

Their colors match their personalities according to conventional color psychology:

Leonardo: Blue - calm and dependable
Michelangelo: Orange - high energy and fun factor
Donatello: Purple - creativity and deep thought
Red: Raphael - quick tempered and formidable

But their weapons are opposite their personalities, probably to highlight that they work best as a team:

Leonardo gets the katanas even though they are the most aggressive weapon.
Michelangelo gets the nunchucks even though they are the most complicated weapon.
Donatello gets the staff even though it's the simplest weapon.
Raphael gets the sai even though it's the most defensive weapon.

The implication with Mikey is that he neglects his training to goof off. Which, since he more or less keeps up with the other Turtles, would mean his potential is enormous. Or, on the other hand, I've seen it argued that his carefree attitude is actually his greatest strength:

In any case, swapping out his weapon for a pizza is exactly the kind of thing Michelangelo would do. Perhaps we're not supposed to interpret his holding a slice of pizza instead of his weapon as something he would do in a real battle, but instead it's supposed to summarize his general attitude.
Apparently splinter wanted to teach his students important things when choosing weapons for them.

Very philosophical reply, but it still doesn't make sense since Mikey doesn't fight with a piece of pizza. Wouldn't they want to showcase his weapon along with all the other ones? When I was little I thought the numchucks looked pretty cool and liked the part where they showed all the weapons rapid fire. Probably my favorite part is where Mikey is deflecting the ninja stars with the numchucks.

If they're trying to recapture the feel of the 80's cartoon why alter the scenes to remove Mickey's weapon? Look at the 80's one and note all the time's they show Mickey using the numchucks.

If it's really that big of a deal then download the mod that replaces the intro with the original from the show...
Problem solved.
Why can't I see the new intro with the numchuck? That's my favorite turtle weapon
Apparently cancel culture came to the Ninja turtles in England way back in the 80's banning any use of numchucks or the word ninja! So in England the Ninja Turtles were called "Hero Turtles" and all instances of the numchucks were cut out of the cartoon and live action movies.

Did the people making this game scrub the numchucks from the intro because of the ban in England from the 1970's?

Or maybe it was a joke referring to that.

If it was a joke wouldn't there be some kind of joke? Like Mikey has a pizza and then drops it and grabs his numchuck? They just repeated the censorship.
