Barring that, I'd be cool to see some palette swaps like that game had, including "different green variations" like some of the games had, as well as something like the "all red bandanas" one the original NES boxart had complete with "pupil-less eyes."
Again, pipe dreams, would be cool if they can work it in but as long as it's on par with Streets of Rage 4, I'll be happy with it.
Maybe in a versus arewna mode, if they'll add it.

Would it really hurt to have the 4 turtles and characters like Yojimbo/Casey Jones or even bebop and rocksteady as playable characters when all you have to is make em a different moveset and unlockable the more you play. A brawler already have a low replay ability and the thing that can extend it is by making each completion unlock a new character so you can keep playing it and with the character roster something like Turtles have its a even easier source for this type of addition than for example SoR4.
Why do these games also have to only have like 7 levels at most aswell or so ? it seems like a golden rule, i can understand that making it too long can make it repeitive, but we live i na time where these games could have like alternate levels/paths for each character for example with their own story and cutscenes instead of the lazy nostalgia work that is SoR4 with the same lame cutscenes and pixelated/old versions of the characters that doesnt really go well with the game anyway as it just feels like a lame skin thats out of place for the modern game.
- Add more playable characters, you lazy bums have like 100s of characters to choose from make it like 10-12 at least.
- Add alternative paths or new unlockable levels to the game, for more replay value and more playthroughs with the same character.
- Add Different storylines/lore for each character with another ending scene or cutscenses that different from each other. Even Street Fighter 2 did this aeons ago where you could get a different ending/story for each character making you more interested in these characters and the games lore/story.
Shredders Revenge Specific addition for example:
- Why do the turtles look completely the same, what is this lame lazy work ? all they have looking differently is a static face expression where mike looks smug and raph looks angry etc. Why not make them look different like Battletoads or the 90s toy line give at least the turtles a different color tint each. The toys for example Donatello was as dark as Pimple from Battletoads and slightly after whereas Raphael was bright green and Mike a bit more neutral green. It would also make it a bit easier to differentiate the characters when playing it online or in 3-4 player modes as its not only their bandanas and weapons you have to notice
- The sound effects in the game when hitting is atrocious based on the trailer, it looks like they just used the sound effects from that lame Scott Pilgrim brawler instead of the soft/subtle sound that was perfect in TMNT 2 Arcade and TMNT IV.
- In the trailer there only seems to be footsoldier enemies aswell, is this what the entire game will be ? only footclans in different color and on vehicles? TMNT 2/IV had mousers, rocksoldiers and that weird electric cord R2d2 like robots alongside a vast amount of different weapon/color of footsoldiers that required a different approach for example the shielded footsoldiers from IV.
- The health bar also looks horrible Why not make them look satisfying like a good bralwer from Capcom or Konami w or the original TMNT games where they had a different phase of color, like red when youre almost about to die and green at full health instead of some lame green squares for all of the characters which also will make it hard to notice in MP which health bar belongs to who. Also a option to have health bars for enemies in options should be a setting as one of the most satisfying elements in a brawler game is seeing the enemy health bar on screen going down and how much your dmg output of certain moves is.
The trailer for the game made it seem like this is a really lazy nostalgia aimed work and nothing more with only footsoldiers as enemies and the turtles looking barely distinguishable from each other. Im sorry but as much as i love Turtles arcade games this seems like a really cheapskate version of 2 of the best arcade games ever made, in this day and age you would expect some common sense design wise and include some of these elements into the game, even a infant can see theyre missing or are dumb design choices.
