Can't Walk to boat BUG

After the sea got full of ink, an invisible wall spawned in front of the dock that leads to my boat, so I cannot go fishing anymore, and the only mission I have left is to talk to Marina but she does not have any new dialogue, any help?

I've a solution for this problem. You need to edit your save file - make a backup first!

Go to your save file (C:\Users\[YourUserName]\AppData\LocalLow\Bunnyhug\MoonglowBay\[somenumbers]\savedata.dat) and search for BOAT_DATA. Replace the related text between the square brackets with:
{"m_key":"BOAT_DATA","m_serializedObject":"{\"damage\":0,\"paintIndex\":1,\"pennantsIndex\":1,\"dockName\":\"Marina\",\"position\":{\"x\":-6.6004557609558109,\"y\":-0.28600001335144045,\"z\":-1.5468504428863526},\"angle\":84.2236328125}"}

This will move your boat to the docks by the aquarium where you can board it. You need to follow the trail of ink into the shattered trenches and then Kraken Cove. Some dialogue will pop up, and then when you return to the aquarium the cutscene with Marina will trigger. If like me, you went back to town after finding the cave then went to the lighthouse before following the ink trail, though I imagine this can also happen the other way round.

When editing your save file, make a back up as changing the wrong thing can stop the game from recognising your save! Also, if you have more than one save you might need to search for BOAT_DATA a few times. If your bugged save is the first in the game's save then it'll be the first BOAT_DATA, if the second save then the second BOAT_DATA and so on.

(Appdata is a hidden directory by default so you might need to tell file explorer to show hidden folders/files if you haven't already set that. That option is in View on file explorer.)

Thank you SO much! I did everything else i could with that wall blocking me (thought it was supposed to be there until i did something) and STILL nothing changed. Following my ink now!

I know this is an older thread but since this isn't patched *yet* I thought I'd share an update:

- I couldn't locate my save files, which seems dumb, but maybe that's a side effect of using the Xbox Game Pass. (They could be in the cloud)

HOWEVER:
If you have the scooter unlocked, you can position it in the corner of the dock, and -sorta- walk across it to get around the wall. Basically, it just adds to the possible path. It's still a bit tricky, but I think it made it easier!

Unlocking the scooter is pretty easy if you have a bit of patience. (Sand fleas can be used to make grilled oysters!) Remember, cook 1 at a time until you master the recipe, and your stuff will sell overnight while you sleep.

This worked on the Xbox version for me. Just had to mess around with the scooter around the dock to get in/out of the dock.

I had the same problem and the solution worked. If anyone does'n't know how to open that .dat file and change values in it. I used notepad++.

Thank god for this post, you're a lifesaver. I was able to find my savefile and found the player position (xyz) code, and was gonna go through like maybe an hour or 2 changing it until I landed on the boat, but this saved me so much time. Thank you
