Mahi Mahi

Alright, I'm addicted, and I think pretty close to done. But now I need a Mahi Mahi, and I've got literally no clue where/how I fish for it. I thought maybe I could buy one, but it's not in the market.

Like the other fish, does it show up as a different name before you've turned one in at the aquarium? If so, maybe I _do_ have a clue, but how am I supposed to know which one is the Mahi Mahi?

I intend to go around and complete the journal by the end of things (and I've already submitted over 100 species), but... right now I was hoping to finish the main storyline rather than putter around the whole map trying every combination of lure/bait/fishing mode...

"Mahi-mahi" is just that name. It lives in the "Resting Crag" to the southeast of the map.
My fish book says "Poise, Large, Deep, All (weather), Spinner".

btw what does deep and shallow water mean? are these places somehow set or really just the water depth?

I've been fishing at the Crag for a few days, the Mahi Mahi only appeared for me between 5am and 3pm. Maybe try that too, if it's giving you trouble.

No idea though what deep or shallow means in the game.
